Agreed. If you don't like a post, tut and move on. Why expend the energy to post something nasty? You do this a lot. Grow up.

Lack of a consistent partner beside him in defence, and then in front of him, cant have helped. Now we look like we've settled the starting line up he should return to his level. FWIW hes the type of player you don't appreciate until hes gone, as hes still easily one of the best left backs in the league.

You've seen "20 odd guys knocking lumps out each other" inside McDiarmid Park on that many occasions? Seriously? I'm quite surprised by that, as it's something I've never, ever seen. Haven't even seen anything close to it. The only fighting I can ever recall seeing inside McDiarmid was at the afore-mentioned United match when we were both in the First Division.

Whilst generally very supportive of you, bit daft to complain at being filmed by the police when you go to games, all of which are filmed in one way or another, and at which you display banners designed -quite rightly - to attract that very media attention. Mind the evidence collected could work in your favour on many occasions. But that's a minor moan - you lads are doing a great job.

No answer then RG. All wind & piss as usual.
You have obviously have your view on him.
I am not saying I think he is good. I just think on the surface of it he has had a raw deal.

I'd like you to list the horrendous mistakes.
He slipped on a wet surface at Tynecastle.
Don't remember any horrendous defending in Europe.
The Celtic game I assume was when Griffith's nudged him off the ball on the centre line. It is hard to resist against a push when you are in midair.

Brad McKay  definitely away. Finding it hard to get my head round it.  We have hardly any phucking defenders as it is, the laddie comes back after a seasons loan, looking sharp and hungry and Saints  pay him off( on Thursday).. At this point I have no idea why and unless he has been  upto no good ( which I am not suggesting he has). WTF is going on at our club..

We have to stop the panic buying of the likes of Richard Foster and start trusting the young players that we apparently spend so much time and money nurturing.. Tommy Wright, as much as I like him, seems obsessed with experience and has a distinct fear of the unknown..
Teams like Hearts, Dundee United and to a lesser extent Aberdeen see injuries as a win-win opportunity to blood youngsters.. The fans crave it and then the boss can hide behind a defeat citing untested players as the reason for the loss.. It's about time we started using our current wealth to improve the squad with real quality like Swanson, Alston and previously with Wotherspoon, Wright and MacLean(Who at the time were big signings for us)..
We don't need a squad full of Foster, Clancy, Plamen Krachunov types... we are currently blessed with a strong squad, we should be trying youth when we are down to the bare bones and adding only real quality when we can.. Either that or scrap the whole youth thing if Tommy doesn't see it as the future...
Ok we are lucky we have Mannus and Zander but there is a guy Mark Hurst, currently the only player we have representing our country at under-21 level and above, and I reckon 80% of our fanbase have never seen him touch a football. What other team outside of the old firm would have a player in the international set up, and 80% of the fans haven't ever seen him play...

I was disappointed in Saints on Saturday.  Really tough with so many defenders out, but one of the things I've come to love about Tommy Wright's time in charge is that you always feel we have a chance, regardless of being up against apparently superior opposition, and we'll be up for the fight.  Rosenberg, Lucerne, Aberdeen 5-1 away with 4 or 5 players out etc, and Celtic at home on several occasions the past few seasons.  The only other old firm lie down I can recall in the past few seasons was the 0-1 LC tie at ibrox where we gave a very average Rangers team far too much respect.
Never felt like we had any belief on Saturday in the first half at all, it was like you see from the Dundee's and Particks, beaten before the game starts by the name of the opposition.  Celtic just wanted that game out of the way as it came between the two European ties and we could have made it really uncomfortable for them.  I know we came back into it, and that was good to see, but Celtic had wound right down by then.
There seems to be a lot of hype about Celtic right now. At the minute their squad is not that far away from last season's.  Scott Brown was made to look like Pirlo, spraying passes around in midfield in acres of space.  This is effectively the same side, with one or two additions, that got beaten by a part-time team from Gibraltar.  And because Celtic fans and the media are going on about them, everyone is buying into it.
Folk on here have said how our season isn't judged by what happens against Celtic and they are obviously right, there just feels like a general air of acceptance from Scottish football that Celtic are going to hammer everyone so there's no point standing up to them.  It feels like we're heading back to how it used to be pre-Armageddon days, and it's a depressing thought.
Even the club happily turning it into a home game for Celtic and not being bothered about putting off our own support just adds to the whole feeling of lying down and accepting our place as a diddy club. Let's just make as much money out of it as we can and move on.
Probably an over the top reaction, there just feels an air of inevitability and boring familiarity in Scottish football currently, with the media absolutely creaming themselves at the prospect of an old firm title chase.  We're usually one of the few who don't buy into that shite, have no respect and get wired into them.
Anyway, looking forward to Inverness next week, let's get the season back on track..

Big games are generally more expensive. Fact.  £2 hike.  And here I've been helping out, let your mates in free of charge several times over the months.    Calm the hell down.   You're asking for fans cash contributions in one breath but yet mouth off in your rant here..   I know fans who don't go now as prices were above £18...   football is expensive, the club needs to survive.  I think Saints do a fair ticketing structure, we certainly aren't the most expensive.

No show v Celtic, Was it not cos couldn't ask a season ticket holder for free entry?  You support your team at home through thick and thin. Of the Scottish Cup final support I'd estimate 8000 boycott every game due to price.   Boycott at home is pathetic.   Turn up and make your message clear.

I was there but I didn't shout abuse (can't be arsed). I heard some abuse but I have the feeling this is an urban myth in the making and in five years time people will say we were singing "you're shite and you know you are" at him in four part harmony for ninety minutes solid.
The thing is, he should never have played that day. He was clearly unfit, miles off the pace and didn't know the team or its style. It was a disaster. It speaks volumes for his dedication and determination that he's now our number one pick in any team sheet.

Brechin performance is a bit unfair. We were very one-sided going forward, and as soon as he got the ball he had three men on him, with very little support. Brechin marked him out of the game, and we had no plan b. Alston got little more joy until Danny came on and gave us another attacking threat to occupy their back line, and then he got some space.

I agree Melbourne. If we were a larger club, with plastics popping out of every nook, maybe we could afford to be restrictive to the true exile definition, i.e. offshore, tanned, tax dodger, gin riddled parasite living off the fat of another land.
Instead, we are far better encouraging all and sundry to our nest. Especially the Barbour jacket, Range Rover brigade   and any other English/Welsh or Shetlanders who have interest!
I reached back to Ross with my 'broken record' request for a simple stream. Response back was request for a picture of me and family wearing saints garb....not sure how that will help him with his new web based Saints TV platform, but so be it....

"People in Perth....Food on the table". What u in about? Your right it's not the convo that's needed just now. Not even relevant to the thread. Don't try and twist my comment.
My point is that my original post politely asking if people outwith Scotland can be  part of the exiles isn't "laughable" as you put it, and that it's just as difficult to get to a game from Essex as it is from some other countries in Europe.
Credit to ur pal in Manchester trying to get to as many games. Well done to him. Not criticising anyone.
But why the bad love originally? You of all people living abroad should understand the issues not living near Perth.....or do u want ur own wee special exiles club this exclusive, special handshakes sacrificing goats, that can only be entered with proof of residency abroad?
90% of what u said I totally agree with it was just the fact that u feel that strongly about excluding those who live the other end of the country....I'm closer to France than Perth.....does that not count?
