People seem to be forgetting that Graham was NEVER our player in the first place. The guy is entitled to go wherever he chooses next term. Doesn't mean he'll be any more or less committed than at any other stage of the season.

Fact is, we're aiming for 4th and he's our most likely scorer by a country mile.

I'm not one expecting to be entertained when I watch football, I want to win games primarily, doing it in style is a bonus, if I'm looking for entertainment I go to the theatre or opera

Well, we did beat them, so that's good! Maybe you can cheer up now!

We're one point off fourth place. One point. Are you seriously saying that's the difference between your original post being valid or not?

Personally I think Tommy Wright should feel smug because Saints, again, have not only been ignored by the media but have also been on the end of completely ridiculous levels of negativity and criticism from some of our own fans (your post on this thread being one of the worst examples). Yet, once again, he has steered us into the top six and another race for European football. He's had to take us into this season without his star striker and without any of the transfer targets he wanted to bring in. He's had to operate on a budget that is borderline disgraceful when you consider how much revenue this team has generated by winning the Cup and repeatedly qualifying for Europe. But despite that, as he himself said after Saturday, his team has "found a way", by becoming bloody difficult to score against and having the best defensive record outside the top two. And through all of that the manager has carried himself in a dignified and respectful manner and not resorted to publicly moaning.

Sure, there hasn't been any silky samba football - from what I've seen this season, quite a lot of it has been pretty bloody poor to watch. But the league table proves that, yet again, Saints are one of the strongest teams in the country. You might call that spineless management, you might call it "under performing" - but, frankly, that is absolutely ridiculous. Nearly every club in Scotland would love to swap places with us right now. With the exception of ICT, no other similarly-sized club can come even close to touching our sustained levels of success over these last few years (and I understand even ICT offer significantly higher wages than we do). And a lot of considerably bigger clubs can't come close to matching our success either. Just look at how far we've come since we won the First Division, and yet you're still not happy.

This is the greatest era in the club's history by some considerable distance. If you feel such vitriol towards the manager and his performance even now, then maybe you just need to accept that it's you who'll never be happy. It's sad to have to say that if Saints continue to be successful under Tommy Wright, it'll be in spite of the views of fans such as yourself.

Changing the subject away from how small time Sheffield Wednesday are, one of our season ticket holders named his cup final baby Maisie this morning. Very much doubt that's a coincidence. Fantastic.

Come the last game before the split we will be cheering on Killie so we can close the gap further on United having secured our top six spot weeks earlier. NAP.

Really looking forward to this game.

We've done well against UTD in recent times (less so at Tannadice than at McD/Parkhead) and they don't seem as menacing without Armstrong and GMS.

Hopefully be a relatively good atmosphere, I always enjoy watching the young team wind up the stewards and vice versa in the lower tier.

We could do with a pick up after the cup exit and an away win would do nicely.

The Old saying you  "never miss what you never had" is ringing out loud and clear in our household  today. For the best part of 50 years I have seen us get put out of the cup in some dire performances against teams above us and below us in the league placing's at the particular time. It has never really been a big issue before as for 49 of these years I have always said/ or was  told by our elders that we would be knocked out eventually anyway?? That changed last year when we didna get knocked out at all and we went on to win the Cup.  Some of the antics yesterday and on here are nearing the Ugly sister behaviour that they expect to win the cup every year and if they are knocked out then it is them that was shite, the pitch was crap. NEVER THAT WE GOT BEAT ON THE DAY FROM THE BETTER TEAM. If our fantastic fans who turn out for the big games desert us again because we are out of the cup and nothing to play for then so be it. we have survived for these last 50 years under this circumstances and I am sure the loyal 2000 fans will continue to support the team as normal.
An other old saying of "Grow up for **** sake" springs to mind also today.
    Rant Over.

Pretty pathetic view of the squad, considering most have shown nothing but utter professionalism in their time here. To suggest they care more about money than winning is one of the worst things I've read on here. You really think Dave Mackay will be sitting at home flicking through his wad of notes instead 0f sitting at home re-running the game in his head and swearing to himself he'll put in extra effort in the next one to make up for it?

Some of them may lack ability, but to question the mentality is poor.

Last season. 15 March. My birthday. Home to Ross Co. Son away. Brought wife to match. Horrendous display. Lost 1-0. Couldn't believe it.
It happens. It's what we've been like. Last night was equally horrendous, if not incompetent.
I travelled from Stirling, so further than Perth.
The players didn't applaud me? So what, I didn't applaud them either. That's life. They'll know they were poor.
    Start over on Friday.

Without wanting to be (too) obnoxious, would you go if we find ourselves at Pittodrie last game of the season needing 3 points to secure a Europa League place?

Obviously that's a hypothetical and unlikely scenario, but you get the point.

I know it's infuriating when we're taken for granted and treated like sh*t at the football (we're customers after all!!), but I personally don't think boycotting's the answer.

Clubs like Aberdeen have no interest in encouraging away fans as they make a fortune from their home gate. A few away fans staying away won't hurt them, and you might just miss a great day out the next time we go there and get a result.

Give the guy a break .. He's just back after a long injury...probably never to recapture the form he had before! How difficult must it have been for him to watch his mates on May 17 from the sidelines.
When he is match fit you will get nothing less than 100 per cent from him, will he ever be the player he once was? I doubt it ... But in the mean time whilst he is still a Saints player he deserves our support.

Everyone's entitled to an opinion and I suppose it's my own fault for reading it, but this thread does my head in.

MacDonald may not be the best player in our team, but there is absolutely no way we should be having extensive discussions about how 'dreadful' he is.

Rarely makes a mistake and for me he shows as much commitment as anyone else in the squad.

Imrie incident: I'm not sure what else he could have done? He matched his run and made every effort to block the ball into the box. As others have pointed out, trying to get closer to him or dive into a tackle would have resulted in Imrie going 1on1 with Mannus and most likely a goal. Would hate to think what we'd be saying about him on here had that been the case!

I'd argue it's a positive thing that he (a midfielder) was the one who burst a gut to actually track Imrie to the line.
