Jenko82
Stayed at the Royal George last week and I would describe it as thoroughly underwhelming. Sleep disrupted by roosting pigeons at 5am and a very poor breakfast
south inch
Thats a blast from the past first job I got sent was in the Skinnergate and I used to go over to the Model to bile the tea at break time a boy in there told keep an eye on your teacan, one off those tins wie sugar in one end and tea in the other. Happy days Happy days indeed John. When I started work in the late 50s I was told that the Skinnergate before the War offered a service called "The penny hing". This was for unfortunates who could not afford even a dormitory bed. A rope was strung across a room which was at least wind and watertight and for your penny you were allowed to hang there getting as much sleep as you could. Come the dawn they would cut the rope!
