MUZZ
anyone heard the new album?
Lt Col Kojak Slaphead III
Having acquired a copy of the album yesterday legally of course! I can confirm on first listen it seems quite good, some really stand out tracks on it :- Bet You Look Good....., When The Sun Goes Down, Mardy Bum and Fake Tales of San Francisco to name but a view. Not sure if i am buying into all the hype surrounding them at the moment, yes they are a great band with some great tunes but to compare them to Oasis at this early stage of their career is down right crazy to me. McCarry One Nil
listened to it last night. Theres a few good songs on it and a couple of the slower ones are surprisingly good- When The Sun Goes Down is fave at the moment but there are a couple that are a bit rocky/noisy that spoil it a bit but still its a no bad listen - and agree that Mandy bum is good too
chopper
Personal favourite at the moment is Riot Van - a slower less rocky one, that is very moody and is a cracking story as well!!! Album is pretty much end to end quality, although wait for albums 2 and 3 before any comparisons can be made with some of the big names. Mr_Plow
Got the album and it's quite good. I do prefer the rougher quality of the demos though.

TheBigCheese
363,000 copies sold last week, i now don't like them in a Big cheese there to mainstream stylie That's the game Watty! Welcome to the dark side, I can recommend a good Prolapse album to get you started on the road to true music snobbery.
Dev
I'm absolutely not a music snob, I don't really care if what I listen to is fashionable or not. However, I am really not into the Arctic Monkeys at all. I bought their album and after a few listens decided I wasn't that big a fan. They've released a couple of decent singles and the lyrics can be genius at times but I didn't take to many of the other tracks. I then saw them live and liked them even less. I'm just not into them at all. Fake Tales of San Francisco in particular strikes me as being pretty bland. They're nowhere near the hype IMO. I'm 37. Disappointing if they're not that great live as i really wanted to see if the hype is worth it, to me that's what sets a great band apart from a run of the mill act.
