willie43
Double Dykes 1968 You can see in the middle distance the railway line heading north over the river Almond. In the 60's when I was a fireman in the railways and working a steam train northwards bairns from the encampment would wave at us and shout abuse. Firemen in their turn, would throw lumps of coal at them whereupon the abuse would turn tae cheers. Happy daze . chips

south inch
Alright another one Kinnoull st Ah the Sandeman Library. Had a pal at school whose dad was in the navy, the 2 of us,aged 9 or 10, would trot up the stairs to the Reference Dept. and ask to see Jane's Fighting Ships so we could study whatever ship he was on. This was an expensive publication and the lady assistant at first gave it to us with great reluctance. We were very well behaved though and eventually she became very helpful on one occasion explaining that a cruiser we thought was called the "Yooriedice" was in fact the "Euridice". Thanks Chips and Willie, brilliant selection as always. chips
