Is there no internal communication between the off field management and the on field management at this club it's absolutely pathetic we have to go through this shit pretty much everytime we want to extend the contract of someone we do want to keep and can't offload some of those we don't want to keep. It seems the club has messed up hugely in terms of assembling this years squad.  Long before the end of last season it was quite clear what positions we needed to fill. We are going into the 2nd game of the league without the most important of those filled. Still approaching each game with a trial and error attitude that we've been playing since Christmas resulting in players not knowing their role/jobs. Its really no wonder we're struggling. Cant believe we are still chasing/ gambling on Stevie May. Time to move on. I understand the club has limited resources which brings me on to my next point. If the goal each year is to stay in the league it shows a complete lack of ambition and what kind of existence is that. Is it about time the club looks for investors to push the club forward. Otherwise the crowds are going to get smaller and the gulf in the level of football, finance, facilities, will just get larger. Think back to when we moved to McDiarmid and the positive impact it had on the club.

Just throwing this in here, but at the time the rumour of May being at Dens broke he was actually heading into the Foundry.  I was standing in Mill st at the time.

In Geoff's day there were four other directors plus Duffer. I fail to see how SB thinks he can run the club on his own as well as a house building firm. I think that is demonstrated by the irregular and ill thought out statements from the current chairman around the playing budget.We were a well run club,not sure that's the case now.

I honestly think there are some fans who wont be satisfied no matter what we the club/manager do. May is literally the poster boy of the cup winning team, one of our own and a player we sold for one of the highest fees we've ever received. If he is coming back, he'll be coming back whilst still in his peak years and with a lot to offer if we give him the chance to play his way into something like his old form. 
Reservations are understandable and I don't think this site has generally been too bad/negative about May, but jesus some of the stuff about him on that banter page and on twitter is mental. You'd think it was the second coming of Adam Morgan rather than a player who scored 27 goals in his only full season with us and who scored a double to get us into the cup final. 
If he does sign, I hope he actually gets a chance before he's being written off. Some of our support will be on his back immediately though, which is precisely the opposite of what a player low on confidence needs.
