Think it's in the Daily Record. We apparently made a cash offer to Stevenage, but were outbid by Portsmouth.

I think Goodwillie is worth the gamble tbh. He's obviously got a chequered past and I appreciate not everyone would be behind him, but if he can recapture his best form, we'd have the best strikeforce in the league IMO.

You don't need to go to edinburgh, there's plenty of pubs in Perth and as it's a Thursday night the loft is a small nightclub which will be open to 2am ish. Perth is not the best nightlife in the world but there's plenty of variety for a couple of nights, and you'll get a better craic with the saints fans:

Witherspoons on Tay street, big pub that overlooks the river, cheap drink.

As someone else mentions, St. John's place is right in the town centre has a few cafés and a couple of pubs: kirkside, half a tanner, with Brennan's right beside there as well. If it's sunny then this will be a good spot to go to.

Within a 2-3 minute walk there is loads of bars along south street, from greyfriars at the river end, to the auld hoose, the tavern, the royal, that bar, dickens. 100 yards along Scott street from the royal is the twa tams, which is a great pub for live music.

Beside the cinema you have 3 popular pubs- sandemans, the foundry and Christies. And a couple of minutes from there you have the st johnstone supporters club on Barossa street, which you should all visit at some point at least for a couple of pints!

Right at the station you have the station hotel bar, and 5 minutes away over st Leonard's bridge there is the abbotsford.

The night of the game there is the muirton suite at the stadium where you can get a drink and a bit of banter with saints fans. Tell the chair puncher to behave though.

There are loads more, that's just a few to be going on with... Like I said, plenty to entertain you. I wouldn't bother with edinburgh, they're more into rugby through there, they don't even have a football team in the top division!

    Hi

Last year, one of the highlights of the trip to the Rosenborg match was getting a guided tour of the Lerkendahl Stadium on the day of the game.  I see from the Swissporarena website that tours are possible there too, so I have contacted FC Luzern to ask about details, need for pre-booking etc.  I have asked specifically about the morning of the match (Thursday 17th).

I am sure others on here will be interested too - so I will let you know the response and what you need to do as soon as I hear back from the club.

    Cheers

Now with Caddis back in the first team plans and also Muzz to return from injury they will be pretty much the same as two new signings.   As has been said above will work out to be a blessing in disguise, and with only really a left sided midfielder to join the squad and more cash available for a potential striker with aerial goal threat I would say things are shaping up nicely.

I think Tommy's lack of transfer market action is more noticeable because of other teams having to do complete rebuild exercises and signing players every other day.  Our best signings were made before the last ball of the season was kicked (McLean, Croft and Anderson) so I think we are well ahead in that respect.

In Tommy we trust... he's won a cup and aw'hing.

It's easy to hype up young strikers like May and Kane as the next superstars because they play in the headline position, but I'm just as excited by the prospect of Scott Brown in midfield.  I'm glad that the way things are panning out will likely give him a good run in the first team from the start of the season.

I thought when fixtures were announced, folk would stop moaning and start thinking and talking about the season ahead, but not Saints fans, oh no! Isn't it ridiculous, we haven't won a major trophy for a month, the board should be ashamed of themselves!!!

I agree. The website is and should be the first point of contact for those wishing to obtain details about the club etc. linked to this should be our Facebook page and twitter as it is.

I know when I look for info on others clubs I go to their main club webpage. Saints are defo lagging behind on this as it never really gets me motivated/excited/engaged as the Facebook page does or this forum. It's a shame that when I want to get up to date info on what's happening at the club I come on this and get the info from someone in Athens, Rwanda, Abernathy LAUGH OUT LOUD No offence lads!

Common saints we are a top Scottish premiership team and a regular in Europe.....let's sort it out!

Does it? Have to say, I've never heard any Saints fan criticise Dodds for the way he left Saints. He did a good job for us over a very short period - then we were offered a massive sum for him and we rightly accepted. It was a great bit of business for Saints (despite the fact that it didn't keep us up). Don't really see why anyone would have a problem with that.

    Totally with RandomGuy on this.

Reading this thread has really made me quite sad and disappointed in my fellow Saints fans.
Why? Because there's an element that have become football snobs. The sort of fans we've resented and slagged for decades. I sincerely hope it's not because we've had a bit of success recently. But reading one or two of the comments, it clearly is.
Let's get something straight here - we're St Johnstone FC. I never thought I'd read or hear Saints fans talking bout us being too good for players that obviously have a bit of talent.
Now to Liam Craig. If I was him, reading this thread, I'd feel a fair amount of anger and disappointment. As a player, he gave us everything he had for six years. Yeah, we've created some legends this season, but for me, I'd put Liam in the same bracket as without him and one or two others, we would be nowhere near where we are now.
So what he left? He left in a dignified manner for honourable reasons. It was the club he supported and he was thinking of his family. Just like his time with us he was upfront and honest and continued to give his all. For a Saints player I can't ask for anymore than that.
So things ain't worked out for him, would I take him back? Too bloody right I would. He's exactly the type of player we're looking for. And when things don't go for him creativity wise, he won't hide, he'll put in a shift.
To even suggest he's past it is ridiculous. Short of confidence more than likely, but that can be repaired. The talent is still there, the passing, the determination, the drive are attributes we need bucket loads.

So come on, wake up and get a dose of reality - he'll be like the prodigal son returning and I, and I hope all of us, would welcome back a true club legend.

I simply can't get my head around this mindset. We should be signing the best possible players we can, the fact they left us (on good terms) at one point in their career shouldn't instantly dismiss them from our thoughts, especially if it looks like they're going to be one of the best possible options out there.

I take it you want Callum Davidson sacked and never brought near the club ever again aswell? Seeing as he also left us for what he considered bigger things

Very surprised by the general reaction on this thread. I'm in total agreement with RandomGuy.

Liam Craig isn't an old player. He is 27. There is no chance that he's suddenly deteriorated into a poor player in the space of one season. As I said before, Hibs have that effect on people. Likewise, David Wotherspoon hasn't just become a good player in one season. He has always possessed quality but couldn't find the platform to show it at Hibs.

We need a left-sided, left-footed player. Would Liam Craig be a regular starter? Who knows? Maybe not. I don't think any club in the world solely adopts that signing policy though. A strong squad is just as important as a strong team. Craig provides something which nobody else in our squad currently does. He is a physical, hard-working player who is dissimilar to our other wide options. He can also play in the centre and arguably do a better job there than McDonald or Millar. Most importantly, he provides a regular goalscoring threat which none of our other midfield options have been able to do thus far.

Before our Scottish Cup victory, not many former Saints players have gone down as club legends. However, Liam staked a serious claim to be considered as one of the few. I hope people aren't forgetting this. I'd love him to come back.
