Havana Saint

Newly promoted teams usually step up their game when they come up against the big guns in the league, we see it all the time, so Tommy needs to ensure we stay motivated and go out there to do a professional job against these journeymen.

We'll probably let in a goal to tease them a bit, maybe even let them take the lead, but in the end a comfortable 2-1 victory to the Saintees. Hearts to drop points at Killie, third place here we come.

In our previous match against them Tommy had them sussed and used O'Halloran's pace and had worked on training ground set pieces, hopefully he works his magic again and finds a way of getting the best from what we've got!

Regarding Spoony a bit more of what he produced in the Scottish Cup Final, but with the finish wouldn't go amiss!

I was at the game.
I felt Kane's running about was great but, again, he was muscled off the ball too much - and that's even with me noticing early season that he'd bulked up a bit. Makes runs into channels and then seem to hide.
When he was on the ball, the sum amount of result was eff all, apart from looking for someone else. He's a centre forward for christs sake.

As a recognition of his work rate probably. While great to see, that will only get him so far I'm afraid

Was all about getting the win today after last week. Thought we played ok. I was fairly confident the goal would come.
Dundee are shite.

A win this weekend would be a great result, as the following weekend when we play Dundee at home, none of Hearts, Celtic, Rangers or Aberdeen have a league game due to league cup semi-finals.
That would give us a great chance to go clear second for a few weeks.  Aberdeen have Celtic at the end of this month as well, so something has to give in that one.
Being international break you look at the table and fixtures and start to do that ridiculous thing where you think "if we win that one, and they get beat we could be top by Xmas etc etc" 
Our next 4 games are: Killie (H), Dundee (H), Rangers (A), Partick Thistle (H), and whilst there's no easy games for us, it does present a decent opportunity to put ourselves in a great position.
Though I'm pretty sure we were all saying similar after a win at Ross County last season, before failing to win another game in the following 2-3 months!!  It's the hope that kills you...
 
 

International breaks do ma nut ( even more so when we cannae beat lowly ranked sides). The good news is Saints fitba is back. Killie at home.. Hopefully everyone's had a nice rest,is raring to go, any wee niggles  have been rested/sorted and we have an almost full squad to select from. On paper this is a very winnable game. Sadly as we all know, it's played on grass rather than paper though so I expect  nothing to be easy. . A win  in this game and  also the next will see Saints reached second place ( if only for a couple of days)
 
A great start to the season but the next three games may well go a long way to determining if it's going to be a fantastic season.. Lets  start by winning this one....

Just watched sportscene, our second goal was sublime. I didn't appreciate it enough yesterday due to sitting behind the goal with the sun in my eyes.

Fantastic result.  Tommy's management and leadership has been quite superb this season.  Great squad and every indication that we will finish above that new sectarian club.  Great cushion to have.

Just home from dingwall nice wee 320 mile round trip. Made all the easier by a great 3 points. Great to see kane play 90 mins and score the winner.

In a week of corruption, UEFA look ridiculous yet again.  A completely hypocritical organisation.  TV rights and the almighty dollar are quite clearly more important for UEFA than individuals supporting human rights.   The irony of UEFA supporting a country outside of Europe is also a rather strange position.
