    "BBC reporting £800,000 plus add ons" I am not a great believer in add ons as they do not always come to fruition as they are outwith our control. It may be;
    a) number of caps whats the chance of getting full caps in the next year
b  number of goals scored he might not settle and fail to achive the number required
    c) Rotherham not get relegated we cannot be sure they will not be
    Within our contol is;
    d) An additional ammount in monthly instalments certain income (I wouild hope this is at least £200,000)
    e) Sell on clause again we are not getting any money until he is transfered if he signs a 3-4 year contract it is a long way down the line and the amount will depend on how good Stevie performs in a second rate team in the Championship. Should it be 5% an he sells for what we sold him £800,000 we we would get £40,000 not a lot.
I believe we should be looking for as much as possible up front but according to BBC report £800,000 was what the board asked for in November.

It not anti-Rotherham Dunc, its just anti-the thought of our most exciting player for ages going there.  You obviously live near there, have a soft spot for them, and can look forward to going to see him regularly; to most of us its the equivalent of Yeovil last season or a Millwall.

We know he will move on eventually, but I'd love to see him go somewhere we could get excited about for him.  Christ, Dundee Utd fans can look forward to watching Sporting Lisbon champions league games hoping to get glimpses of Gauld coming on as a sub.  Or watch the premier league and take pride in Robertson playing against the Chelseas, Man Utd's, Liverpools etc.  I'm not saying May is premier league ready yet, but even if it was Derby, Wigan or Leeds there would be a lot more pride and optimism.

Still hopeful it won't go through, but the potential buyers, and the relatively average fee, just leave me feeling a bit gutted and disillusioned before the season has even started.

Sign up for another season extension Stevie, keep banging in the goals, break into the Scotland squad and get the move you deserve.  The big bucks will follow.

I witnessed a season ticket holder in the main stand arguing with a steward as his party had turned up at around 7.35 and, not surprisingly, discovered people in 'their' seats. The current occupants refused to move as by that time they would struggle to get the number of seats required together anywhere else.

For me, it should have been 'season tickets are not valid, therefore free for all for seats'

The clubs Half arsed approach did not help at all, especially say where a family of four maybe decided to give the game a go, not being regulars, not visiting the website, not reading WAP.....they turn up early, pay their money, get a bovril etcetc, then 5 mins before kick off some big hairy with half a dozen pints in them turns up and tells them they have to move

Any non-season ticket holders have problems with their seats last night?  I came along with my two U12 daughters, sat down in unreserved seats (even though we knew season tickets weren't valid), then got turfed out of them by a steward because some girl who works in the ticket office turned up with tickets with our seat numbers on them.  How does that work, surely you either go with allocated seats or you don't.  A half way causes nothing but confusion.

Things like this really brings it home about football being ALL about money.! We have a young local player who has been nurtured by a team that he loves. He progresses season by Season. He steps up into the first team and has a brilliant season.! He is instrumental in the Club winning their first ever Big Competition.! and it seems that we are willing to punt him at the drop of a hat.!WTF..! Ambitious or What.!?

steve brown doesn't spend money, he is only interested in making money, at least his dad spent wisely. iv been following saints home & away for 50 years through thick and thin and this is the worst its been, every other club is getting players in except us and its only ogoing to end in relgation  if we don't improve on the squad as we cant depend on pushing too many youngsters in at once

We played a team who were far quicker and far slicker and their pace really hurt us. I think everyone is in agreement our team was far below par their passing game was no existent. It is easy to blame this one or that one but remember most of them were in the Scottish cup team and they do not lose their ability overnight. This is my opinion on what went wrong last night. Firstly our squad is not big enough to allow TW to change things. I believe he has a problem with Wotherspoon, O’Halloran and Croft. All three of them play best wide right (all are right footed). Croft only has a right foot and it showed again last night when he refused to cross with his left foot. Therefore he will only be played wide right. So what does TW do with the other two? He has stated he wants a wide left player and an attacking mid field player so he uses O’Halloran and Wotherspoon. He is not sure who is better where hence he continually swaps them. He switched them at half time. In my opinion he needs to stop chopping and changing and give two of them a run in the team. We need to start to play it from the back. Last night it was all long balls. This is because it was successful for last season with May running on to them. When May is not in the team it does not work. I worry about our lack of pace in the midfield and at the back. We were woefully exposed with their runners; we looked at times as if we were treading water. In SPL it may be good enough for defenders and central midfield players being all blood and guts throughing themselves in front of the ball in last ditch defending but at European level they need to be fast, good passers and good tacklers one or two out of three is no good enough at this level. In my opinion we are playing above our weight but our togetherness and not our football saw us through the other ties. Look at Celtic, Aberdeen and Motherwell who were better than us last year, they have also struggled with the Scottish style of football in Europe. I have enjoyed our European adventures but my expectations are realistic and pleased we got this far and the opportunity to watch the saints in two home games. Now looking forward to a new league campaign.

We had other attacking options sitting on the bench tonight?

    Caddis could of came on.

Hes done okay recently. He and Kane if they are going to be part of the squad have to be given a chance to prove it.

There is no point them being part of the squad if they are just going to stand and watch.

I don't think we do need another attacking option.

Personally we need a central defender.  ZERO pace at the back.

Anderson needs a partner that isn't extremely slow.  Sometimes you get away with it against your average Scottish side but when you come across the likes of tonight it shows.

Not questioning Croft's fitness or otherwise but you can't seriously think he had a better game than O'Halloran last night?! He was absolutely woeful and should have been taken off. He spent the evening miscontrolling and stumbling over the ball. O'Halloran far from brilliant but at least had a touch and was unable to run at players.

Croft has been very disappointing since we signed him again in my opinion.

Last week I thought it was a poor performance due to the quality of the opposition but for me this week was exactly the same against a poorer team than Lucern.

We are dreadful at keeping the ball, struggled for most of the game to string two passes together.

As good as Dave and Wright have been for us their lack of pace is now costing us dear, in both home games we have been painfully slow at the back.

The front two last week and Macca this week end up battling with the opposition presumably due to the lack of decent supply to them.

Scott Brown looks decent but I' m not sure how long we can rely on someone so young.

Due to the chairman's decision to starve Tommy of funds our bench is woefully short of any real game changing quality despite only a couple of injuries so how does he expect Tommy to change things tonight when it was going so wrong in the first half. There will be arguments about the players that are missing but how much creativity do Ando, Murray and Chris Miller give us?

Two games, two poor performances, for my money if the club don't support Tommy he'll either walk or the team will suffer and there's a chance he'll be emptied by Christmas. The fans and the good feeling that has been building will disappear again and it will be downward spiral time again for us. Alternatively we could spend some of the money from the final and this last two games, bring in a couple of decent players and keep the bandwagon rolling. The choice Mr Brown is yours but the evidence against your current policy is pretty compelling at the moment

We all know how importand balancing the books are but sometimes you have to speculate to accumulate. This can be difficult and in Scotland we are erring on the side of caution. Celtic are a prime example of this; to reduce their debt to zero they have sold or released many star players,Ki, Hooper, Wanyama, Wilson, Samaras etc. While this balances the books it weakens the team and having lost 4v1 last night they will have to sell Foster and Van Dyke to balance their books because they will miss oput on European millions. This has resulted in reduced sale of season tickets and empty stands at their league games. But is good news for others in the league as they are steadily drawing themselves down to the level of others and makes winning the league by someone else a possibility. A bit of managable debt never hurt anyone so let strenthen the team; we will never have a better chance of achiving our highest ever finish with Celtic weak, Rangers Hearts and Hibs not in the league. One final plea please give TW the money to buy or sign players.

I believe our best formation is 4 5 1 which changes to 4 3 3 when attacking we played it at Ibrox in the semi and second half last Thursday against Lucern. With the size of our squad in my opinion the only choice TW has to make is which two from the three Wotherspoon O'Halloran or Croft. We were caught out by Lucern overloading their mid field and I belive in Europe we will very rarely play against more than 1 up front and which means if we play 4 4 2 our 4 in midfield will be over run by that teams 5 as Lucern showed in both legs.
    My team would be

                                                                   Mannus
                                              MIllar      McKay      Wright      Easton
                             O'Halloran      Brown      Wotherspoon      Miller     May
                                                                    McLean

I would play O'Hallorn in the first leg as we need take a lead into the second leg where I would swap and play Croft. Others may disagree and suggest a goaless draw is a good home result and therefore play Croft

I must have been watching a different game form most. Yes Millar and Brown had a decent games but in my opinion not a MOM performance. Main reason Millar and Brown could not cope with or shut down their playmaker number 8, he ran the midfield and everything came through him. Talking to supporters who were at the away game they said he did the same in Luzern, surly they should have learned and got closer and shut him dowmn more quickly. I gave MOM to Mannus who had a number of outstanding saves including the penalty save which took us into the next round. But thats the beauty of football many watch the same game but their opinions of what they observe can be polar opposites

Lets get together and get behind the team and the squad for this season and hope they can bring success on the field. Best of luck to the team and much enjoyment to supporters home and abroad. I will cheering from the stand at almost all the games in Scotland. Win, Lose or Draw always a Saintee.

Lets has some positive vibes on here and wish Steve Brown, Tommy and the Team all the Best for the new season. Looking forward to having a blast in Lucerne!! COYS
