Had the Chairman dealt with contract in October or November, it wouldn't have been an issue. He would have signed. It was left too late. Supposedly there was only a few hundred pounds between our offer and Hibs.

Well that's a negative for the coaching staff as these guys shouldn't be here at 23 if they are not good enough. It would be interesting how much is spent on youth system. How many decent players could have we bought.
I think we should know by the age of 18 if a player had what it takes.

Won 3 headers against reserve centre half but didn't see too much in the 10 mins to think we have a jewel. Looks like another(we have to get a striker)signing.
    Hope I am wrong.

If I ever see paton in a saints shirt again it will be too soon. Cummings just no never ever again, Kane is second striker and its time for him to sink or swim. Wotherspoon is more than often a total shitehawk.
Tommy again ****ed that up no use complaining we gave them too much space and did not close down when YOU play the 4 slowest immobile midfielders at the club as a unit!
    Embarrassing

    1. Not sure I know why disabled should get free parking.
    2. Re having to park at least 30 mins before game. If I was paying 50 quid for a space I would expect to be able to leave it empty all season if I wanted to as I had paid for it.

He got an offer from Hibs & turned it down. Looks like he never got any interest so went back to Hibs who said get to.
    We don't need another midfielder.

    In agreement with your comment.
Not everyone who has a blue badge is skint.
Think they should at least pay something.
There again, don't wish to sound harsh, but not all who display a blue badge is the badge holder.
Agree that the bays should be as close to the disabled persons point of entry to the Stadium as possible.
Also if the bay is paid for and you choose to arrive 5 mins before kickoff, or choose not to attend, why should someone else be permitted to use the bay.
Smacks of greed by the club.

He "trusted in Tommy" last season, and gave Watson and Coulson healthy two year contracts, and now 12 months later he's facing the prospect of having to pay off their contracts in one lump sum because Tommy no longer wants them. He "trusted in Tommy" and offered Swanson one of the largest (respective) contracts we've ever offered, and he "trusted in Tommy" and offered Scougall a contract which beat off English League Two sides.
Let's not paint Brown as some villain who never does things TW wants, he has a responsibility to maintain control of the budget, and that's what he's doing. It took Tommy until the last two months of the season to even give Scobbie a run of starts, if anyone is disposable (considering Mannus accepted a cut and Millar was re-signed earlier) then its the high earning, third choice, 29yo Centre half who's out of contract and who barely played in the previous season.

I think Thomson has shown that he has the ability to influence a game, the question is not whether he can do it, but can he do it on a regular basis.
We have already seen Comrie for instance play at right back and he has done well, and is able cover for Foster.  The fact that Foster and Craig can both play at left back, I don't see the urgent requirement to get an experienced left back in.
Overall I think a striker and a replacement for Swanson are the priority.

We don't need a replacement for Coulston. We need a replacement for Swanson.

I personally think that's a decent squad to be starting the campaign with.
These kids we keep talking about are 20, 21 and 22. Hardly bairns. Half the England national team are that age. Time for them to be given a chance.
And remember these other teams making signings have also lost a lot more players than we have and need new players desperately.
We have the luxury of a squad already in place.

Definitely a good signing for Utd. Tam is one of those guys that if you asked him to do anything for the team he would. Not a big defender but not often beaten in the air. Composed enough that Tommy has even played him midfield. Prone to the odd mistake but makes many more goal saving tackles. Oh, and he'll score a winning penalty in Europe for you....not that it will help Utd much.
The biggest compliment for Tam is that we never really notice when our 'better' defenders are injured.

If Scobbie leaves, I suspect it could be this time next year before we know how big an impact it has. He's the go-to man if one of the first choice players are unavailable and has always seemed to accept that role in the squad. There's a mistake in him but he's pretty reliable on balance. If he stays he'll continue to offer the manager that option next season but where does it leave the four young defenders he has coming through?
If Scobbie goes it should open up a pathway for them (depending on what happens with Watson) but what if they don't shape up as required? Even allowing, if he does leave then I hope TW at least takes the risk on the young guys and doesn't bring in another experienced defender.

Only worth letting Tam go to the Dee's if we are using his wages to strengthen other areas of the pitch. Liam Gordon or Ally Gilchrist can do the same job Scobbie has done last season.
However, if Tommy uses his wages to try and replace him with another average utility defender, I find it hard to believe that we would find a better one....

Can't say I disagree with any of that.  Kane has always had potential, and I read that as a challenge from Tommy for him to step up and make his mark.  I'd rather Kane kicked on and achieved the very best he is capable of, and being the next player to make us some transfer money, than buying in another Sutton or Iwelumo type who fails to reach the standard required despite a better pedigree.

I think it must be that Saints make them look average as even the likes of Hays  & McGinn have done little against us..
I have never rated Logan anyway & as for Ryan Jack ,even in televised games I do not see a better than average player there. The pundits rate him though so they must be right.
