It is St Johnstone Football Club's policy as an employer to treat all

people equally irrespective of race, ethnic origin, sex, marital or parental

status, sexual orientation, creed, disability, age or political belief.

Have they covered everything here, I mean there's bound to be somebody out there that is offended that their particular situation hasn't been mentioned.

Look out Cynical Saint - I'm after your title. :)

Disclaimer statements are popular when advertising posts - the statement "St Johnstone FC is an equal opportunity employer." would have sufficed.

Astonished that the Club offered him the job without advertising and seeing what is available out there.?

Internal promotion for promoted posts is extremely common - if the right candidate was available internally it would have been efficient of Saints to appoint from within. However, if internal employees are interested they can still apply, so the club is getting the best of both worlds here.

Advertising with The Scotsman - easy seeing we're a club alright for money!

Some interesting candidates for the post so far, nice to see some genuine Saints fans interested in the position!

Dear Mr Brown,

I wish to apply for the post of General Manager of Saints. I currently work for SSE and earn around £17000 per annum. Previously I have worked for Currys, Dixons, Lidl, BBC TV, Tern Television and One O One Chip Shop.

I am a competitive and motivated young man who works well in a team or own my own.

I am ambitious and strive to excel in all I do. I have the ability to work as part of a team or on my own. I am professional and flexible in my approach to work. Good at problem solving, quick at learning and with an eye for detail.

I thrive on challenges and always approach my work with self discipline to ensure that I achieve my goals and targets. I am a very friendly and approachable person who is comfortable dealing with all types of customer. This attitude enables me to have a good relationship with my colleagues and peers.

I was educated at Perth High School and the University of Abertay, Dundee.

My good points are as follows:

I am clever

I know lots about football

I want to increase prices in order for the club to make more money

I am not afraid to make unpopular decisions

Criticism does not faze me

No worries, i'm just amazed pedantic pete and his pedant pistol didn't spot it first. Or any number of your fans for that matter.

I saw it about four hours ago.

Decided not to bother pointing it out.

I thought this next bit lost him the job.

"I have good health and have an had no sickness related absence in the last 10 years."

Apart from the typing error, I want to know what non-sickness related absences have you had, eh?
