Does anybody remember eating "tiger nuts" as some kind of sweetie?   I don't recollect them.  I was rifling through the gardening brochures on what to order for growing this season and tiger nuts were there.  The spiel mentioned they were popular with kids right up until the 1970's.

Asda sell Walkers Tiger nuts, chilli flavoured coated nuts  £1 a bag.

(Orange bag with Tigers face on the front).

Also green bag containing salt & vinegar flavour.

P. S. never tried above.

Somehow think these may not be quite the same.
