I don't think he ever said he had formally turned down a PCA from Rangers. It isn't impossible that the rest was just press adding 2+2 and getting Rangers as usual. In truth, within the football industry, true care and attention provided to a football player can make the critical difference between someone with talent failing – or becoming immensely successful.
