Was foggy every day, all the emotive music wis in a 'minor' key and everything wis in black and white. Ye dared no get on the 'S' Bahn (or wis that the 'U' Bahn) or you ended up in the eastern zone. Oh aye, and Soviet MIG-21's broke the sound barrier repeatedly overhead routinely everyday for nuisance effect. Quiller Memorandum stuff. Â Braw! right enuff. Saintdunc Posted June 22, 2014 Report Share Posted June 22, 2014 I was there for 5 years in the late 70s, early 80s before the wall came down and have been back a couple of times since. Intend to go back soon. In those days a trip through checkpoint charlie to east Berlin was a must as everything was so cheap. Changd days though but still a happening place.
