THE LARK SAINT
Shame to see a local business man concept of a bowling alley just off Glover St refused planning. Was being touted as a family orientated venue. Councillors didn't approve to the new venture. Forced to refuse due to objections youmean

Cagey
It would make a lovely, wide-open plaza. Yeah ,it will be great sitting there in the freezing wing & rain. There are tables outside the cafés & restaurants in the square & the only people sitting there ,other than on the 6 nice days of the year ,are the smokers wrapped up against the elements. People always say that. They said it where I am in Beverley, too, when there was a plan to turn the Saturday market into an open piazza instead of the current car park. People said exactly that. But there are tables and chairs outside several cafes and restaurants in town now and they're always full.

mad saints fan
I'm all for the city hall staying ONLY if they can get the stone of destiny and turn the building into a tourist attraction telling the history of the stone, kings etc. Perth really lacks a 5 star tourist attraction in the centre and it's something that would appeal to a huge range of people. If that isn't possible, bring it down.
Abernethy Saint
We could dress Ghostie up and make him Town Crier for Perth. And, simultaneously, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen. MySpazz and fazman1977
sleepless
he'd never be available on Saturdays though. I suspect town criers are expected to be available on Saturdays. Mind you, he could just shout from McDiarmid during a lull in the proceedings.
Fair Maid
We could dress Ghostie up and make him Town Crier for Perth. And, simultaneously, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen. He'd have to have one of those big shiny ding-dong things, wouldn't he? Has he got one?
Abernethy Saint
Big shiny ding dongs will be provided.
sleepless
"Ghostie and the big shiny ding dong" - sounds like a very dodgy children's book. Looking forward to the sequels... Fair Maid
