Agree, the first pie made to accomodate a portion of beans within the pie case i do miss them:cry: Also any thoughts lately on murrays pies:?:
babychunder
Aye that tall pie case was good for sauce / gravy / mash / beans whatever. Ye cannae get proper pies doon here. Morrisons sometimes have them but they're no the real McCoy. I'll be havin a few proper ones when I come up to catch the Turkey plane next week. HOODLUM65
Usually get an Onion Bridie (hot) from Murrays bakers, deeelish . Steak or steak and gravy are the best from Scone butchers. Wilma next door to my daughter in Letham came back with 12 last week, to put in her freezer. Before away games, Ancient & myself collect the pies from Scone butchers. They're braw, just ask Ghostie and Postiepat .
HOODLUM65
last time i was up i went to Simon Howies in the old High Street, again, queued ou the door on the Saturday morning. The steak pie was excellent, the breakfast pack was unbelievable !!! i,m slavering right now thinking about it !! Its Howies for me. Not a shop I frequent. However went once and tried their black pudding which I thought was gash. Lorne sausage did not appeal either. Where can you get decent Lorne that doesn't ooze fat and shrivel up when being cooked? babychunder
Lorne always grows a bulge in the middle when ye fry it too quick. If ye cut a cross in the middle wi a sharp knife first it seems tae cook a lot more even, withoot that burned bit at the top o the hill.
