Jad
Almost choked on my Sunday bacon buttie whilst reading the latest drivel n pish from Craig Burley in his Sunday Mail column. He goes down the Scottish football is in depression, poor Celtic etc etc thread. West coast arrogance as per usual with his assertion that Celtic will win SPL at a canter probably by Feb, March or April and he also says their European opener is a mere formality. Then came this: "ST JOHNSTONE crashed out of Europe in the qualifiers last week. I expect Dundee United and Motherwell to follow suit". Well I don't know about you but from where I was sitting on Thursday night at McDiarmid Park I did not see Saints "crashing" out but then again what would I know compared to an ex OF legend.....maybe his view of the game was better than mine from his armchair in his house. When will people like him learn that not everything revolves around Celtic and that other bunch whose name I have forgotten. Real football fans are found at Gayfield, Glebe Park, Victoria Park, Christie Park and yes at McDiarmid to name just a few places. It must come as a real shock to the likes of Mr Burley and others that we enjoy our football and will always support our teams no matter where they play. Please crawl off to somewhere else Mr Burley and let us get on with doing what we do well and honestly...supporting our teams.

It is even more incredible that Burley is actually saying anything noce about any Scottish team , Celtic included, he has a vendetta against Lennon for some time now. Wonder how their editors would feel some sunday if the pc brigade decided not to buy their rags for a few weeks.
Tranmere Saintee
Not sure which paper, but another typical OF arse by the name of Davie Provan is also spouting p*sh about how badly scottish football has treated the dead & not quite buried team and how everybody bar for them is to blame- pathetic!! newyear'sday97
We've seen what fan-power caqn achieve. Maybe it's time for some emails to the sunday Mail telling them that unless Burley is sacked, their sales may drop off big time:D PS. By the way Jad when i saw the thread title it reminded me of Basil Fawlty's classic rant about Sybil going on mastermind: Specialist subject the bleeding obvious:laugh: Edited July 29, 2012 by newyear'sday97
ancientsaint
Not sure which paper, but another typical OF arse by the name of Davie Provan is also spouting p*sh about how badly scottish football has treated the dead & not quite buried team and how everybody bar for them is to blame- pathetic!! Read his "column" and how ---most of the top teams will struggle financially due to the demise of a club that over the years has fed Provan and his family. He even went along the lines of stating that Celtic would win the SPL hands down with their "reserve" team and how Lawell wouldnt sanction "Big" transfers as they wouldnt be "persuaded " to go to the SPL because there would not be the 4 "Glasgow derbies". What he failed to realise was -something had to go in terms of "Sporting fairness and integrity" --He also failed to state that the only way the Celtic v Rangers derbies "invoked such passion" was down to the continued Bigotry amongst "SOME" of the fans from both sides -It still exists today despite reports that BOTH clubs have taken massive strides to rid themselves of the "Religion" of Celtic v Rangers derbies. DP also misses a point that "Rangers" voluntarily placed themselves into Administration then Liquidation. They became a New company -a new team and as such had no right to be in a league higher than another club applying to join the leagues - in fact i would go as far as saying Rangers(New) should not have been given an automatic slot BUT that other clubs who have applied in the past and who still seek to join the leagues should have been given the opportunity to put their case forward and the decision left to the SFL chairpersons who they admitted. saintj
Was its vlad's team that really pumped them one year ? Na, Artmedia Bratislava gave them a doing in the away leg, Strachans 1st game I think. Mind you, most teams give Celtic a doing in the away leg FBK Kaunas, Vlad used to be in charge of, papped 'The Sevco' out of Europe a few years back. Broon
I had a Rangers fan telling me that St Johnstone were a joke and have only served to damage Scotlands Coefficient by going out in the second qualifying round. He was pretty quiet when I told him that it was really Rangers fault that the Scottish clubs are getting difficult qualifiers because THEY have failed to win more than 1 of their last 23 - YES TWENTY THREE - European games. Over our 12 game history we have 4 wins, 5 losses and 3 draws. Puts them to shame.
deej
That's what I was thinking...wasn't quite a big defeat ??? They won the home leg 4-0 and got pumped 5-0 away.. Not sure which leg was first.
ODAB
They won the home leg 4-0 and got pumped 5-0 away.. Not sure which leg was first. Away leg first. But more importantly, why would anybody get upset about what Burley has to say? Surely by now people must realise and understand the tactics used by media to attract customers? Rangers and Celtic will always dominate coverage because they have the biggest fan base and therefore more potential customers to the media. The tabloids aren't aimed at intelligent people. Combine the two and you get idiots taking crap about the Old Firm.

Seriously?! Your first thought having read this pap is the poor people that are out of work? Perhaps Burley should write an article on the fact that Scotland requires economic immigration despite having a sizeable unempolyment problem. Then he could really cause some rage.
