Papa Jack
I worked in the White Horse about 25 years ago.....and it was falling to bits at that time.
Gussie
I worked in the White Horse about 25 years ago.....and it was falling to bits at that time. It was a bit down at heel long before that. I recall a guy called George Deveraux ran the place in 70s/early80s? Why dont the cooncil allow redvelopment for housing? The days of busy pubs (and easy money) are long gone now. Approval for demolition was given in Nov 2007 and conditional approval given for 15 flats to be built on the site. As at Sept 2014 Graham and Sibbald were the selling agents. Oddly, Tory Councillor Heather Stewart (who has been on the Council during the above period) is reported in the Courier as saying "I don't want it to be left as an eyesore" REALLY!!!!!! WTF has she been doing all that time?

Have to retract that as it appears there was permission to demolish in 2007.
