Al C
Young didn't even realise he'd been sent off and then tried to claim it was two bookings in quick succession after not noting the one in the first half. An utter helmet. KingBoobwar
Honest Saints Fan
There is a match official commander at every game, who watches the referee from the stand and picks up in things he may have missed. McFadden basically did his gesture to this official as he was sitting in the main stand.

Honest Saints Fan
No but it was a talking point. He's not going to ignore. The referee missed it so he mentioned the compliance officer might take a look at it. What's the matter? Chick is there to report on what is happening, usually he does this appallingly but that's his job. craiginasaintsstrip
ex-montrosesaintee
My point is that he said several times that the CO WOULD look it and increase the ban. Judge and jury.
Honest Saints Fan
That's it m8. Chick Young got McFadden a 3 match ban. Not McFadden himself. So true. ex-montrosesaintee and craiginasaintsstrip

Dave H
We moan when we get no coverage on tv and moan when we do LAUGH OUT LOUD. Better watching this than Goodwin fortnight after fortnight. Jimmy was frustrated. The entire team was including management. Just goes to show how rattled we were. Silly actions but I don't mind. It happens in football and will happen again. Extra 2 matches out... oh well its not if he has been on fire and a regular starter creating and scoring goals. Will give others a chance. The compliance officer was brought in to deal with offences missed by the match officials, however recently it appears the BBC are doing their job.Having sent off Faddy the ref,and the mainstand assistant and the 4th official would surely have been looking at him as play was stopped.Only way CO gets involved if none of the match officials include incident in their report.Faddy was stupid, and if you believe no one saw it then you are too. The Cummings (Hibs) incident WASNT missed by the ref - he was booked for his gesture during the game. So why is the CO offering him further punishment? Havana Saint
It was the epitomy of a dreadful afternoon. Hope he reflects and comes back stronger. His body language all game was not good though, simply going through the motions. Tranmere Saintee
The problem seems to revolve around the fact that nobody seems to know how the system is supposed to work and as usual the SPFL/SFA etc etc will not be open about it. IIRC the previous CO came out and said he only responded to complaints made to him with 48 hours (?) but would not say who he accepted these from. Kinnoull Kicker
The press do their job, the compliance officer does his job - if our players behave badly then they get what's coming. Its the same for all teams, though of course over time it doesn't seem like that! McFadden is here on a short term contract, probably being well paid to gain fitness and add value. His absence rate to date through injury is pretty poor and getting himself a three match ban through a childish reaction, irrespective of beng frustrated or whatever, certainly is not helping a team crying out for someone with his undoubted skill. Personally I'd far rather see Kane getting his chance as soon as he returns. Saintdunc
541ntees
He was stupid to react but was obviously annoyed that he was wrongly sent off. But can we appeal ? Nope cos the system stinks
Jamie_Beatson
Thought Michael Stewart made a good point on Sportscene about the inability to appeal the initial red card. Frankly just about the softest second yellow you're likely to see. Maybe if he'd committed several fouls after his initial booking, but when he was being obstructed and was doing nothing more than trying to get the ball it was a ridiculous decision to send him off. Â Not sure why he's getting a two game ban for the - admittedly idiotic - gesture. Cummings did similar for Hibs on Saturday and only got one! Nope cos the system stinks It may well stink but it's the same for everyone, annoyed he was but doesn't excuse his childish reaction. Jesus he's an experienced international player not a wee boy. now we lose him for 3 games but no doubt he still picks up his wages meantime. Fantastic. Kinnoull Kicker
Everyone gets players sent off wrongly ? Didn't say that because they don't. What I said was the system / rules are the same for everyone. St Mirren have had one sent off wrongly of late and it would be astonishing if McManus of Motherwell is not successful on appeal. McFadden was unfortunate to be yellow carded for the second time but his reaction was plain stupid - the hibs guy that has also been picked up can to an extent be excused due to him being 19 or so but not someone of mcfaddens age and experience.
