In response to the innocent brigade. You know that the stewards don't tolerate any fan interaction and you were given plenty warnings.

Should have just sung the words to Sloop John B......and if the Stewards said anything told him to take up the matter with the Beach Boys........Cant fathom this bullshit (even if it was aimed) of every song aimed at Celtic FC and there fans.

Surprised that they dont BAN all singing and just have a quiet atmosphere.

Must admit tho NOT all stewards at Celtic park were that bad.

Let me set a few things straight here.

The fan ejected at 2.58pm was escorted out because he sang 'your season's over, why don't you go home'. The polis told him it was sectarian. The fan argued that it wasn't and to point out the bit that was sectarian.

The polis then stated that although the lyrics he was singing weren't offensive, the tune was! That is why he was ejected.

When one of his friends asked the polis how we were supposed to differentiate between whether a tune is offensive or not the polis stated (and this is no joke - he actually said this!) that it was up to us, the fans, to contact Celtic Park in advance of attending the match to ask for a list of songs/tunes which are permissable at Celtic Park. What the f*ck is this world coming to?:?

As for the half dozen or so down the front just before full-time, yes they were asked to sit down more than a few times. They eventually did but kept singing. A female steward went over to them and said (again, this is true...) 'keep the noise down!' at which point one of them stood up and said 'Keep the noise down? You're kidding, right? I've had enough of this!' at which point he stood up to leave and the other five followed him.

They were not ejected, merely jumped before they were pushed. The polis and Stewards following them up the stairs just made it look like they were being ejected.:?

So, all in all just another day in paradise. And they wonder why nobody likes going to their pish ground with it's shit view and with members of the hitler youth telling you to 'keep the noise down'...200 Saints fans and 30000 Celtic fans and they're telling us to 'keep the noise down'. You couldn't make it up...

just like everyone else our age you want to have a good time at ibrox and parkhead singing and giving the opposing fans grief all they done was sing your season over why dont you go home which the steward probably thought was the famine song but that steward cant just assume that they are singing that song but if you pay your money aslong as you arent causing any trouble you should be aloud to sing

You must have been well aware that the stewards would assume you were singing the famine song. Maybe your words weren't sectarian but your intentions were obviously not innocent.

Everyone would like to see sectarianism right out of football so anything even slightly tainted by it should be avoided.

I know Celtic still sing their bigotted songs and I hate to give them any credit but the sooner all traces of these songs get out of football the better for everyone.

Surely you can find other ways to wind them up .

i am though totally against sectrian and all this as i have family in ireland so i would never sing that anyway the steward cant just assume he has to make sure it is that song before he chucks people out

Sums up why I refuse to go to that shithole, with stewards like that i'd be lucky to see any of the game.

Celtic sing the words to Aiden McGeady with the same tune as the one that was belted out by Saints Fans. No difference at all.

Its shocking double standards

I was above the exit and a police-officer also prevented the first fans from leaving, so that the stewards and remainder of police could 'catch up' with them. Last time 4-5 other Saints fans were ejected. Utter disgrace. Celtic simply do not want away fans so they can sell the whole ground to season ticket holders, they are of course the greatest supporters in the world, despite the stadium being half-empty etc etc.

The more that Scottish football alienates young people, who are just up for a laugh, the more our fan base will shrink.

(PS Good to see Duberry's brother among the Saints' fans)

And Josh Falkingham's mum (I think?).

I've never heard a fan so excited and proud that her lad was "on the pitch at Celtic Park warming up with the rest of the team". Sweet. You know you've made it when you've signed for the mighty St Johnstone FC...:wink:

Aye, poor show right enough from the stewards/polis. One saintee asked a steward when walking by him how "we were being told to sit down but they weren't" pointing to the 'green brigade' the stewards reply was "we can't tell them to sit down because their the ultras" cringeworthy stuff. Parkhead has scum written all over it though

Upon walking up to the gate to gain entry to the ground, the 2.58pm ejected fan was called an 'orange b*stard' by a Sellick fan. The stewards and polis did nothing. We are an easy target. I have absolutely no sympathy for the 'best fans in the world'.

Before kick-off my teenage laddies and their pals were down the front at the segregation tape speaking to their friends from school who just happened to be Sellick fans in the Sellick end. The Stewards asked them to move away. They were chatting to their friends, ferfuxake! Christ, if this is way they are treated as young adults is it any wonder the resentment grows as they do?

Beve, what do you think you sre doing, letting facts get in the way of the uninformed truth:roll:

We are all well aware of inconsistancies in stewarding/policing at the differing grounds of Scottish football and I was going to keep my thoughts to myself but the way we were treated on Saturday was probably the worsed yet and I will not allow my fellow fans be slandered!

The terms and conditions of attending a football match at Celtic Park are well documented on the back of our (over-priced) tickets but no-where on my ticket did it say that if we are in doubt over which songs/tunes may be sung we were to contact Celtic Park in advance for the avoidance of doubt and to prevent any embarrassment.

Who the f#ck do Sellick Football Club think they are? Are they 'special'?

I'm sick of them playing at being victims all the time.

It really has to be a big game for me to adventure to the grounds of Celtic or Rangers. You get treated like a 2nd class citizen at Ibrox and Parkhead in more ways than one.
I have to say that the Ibrox experience was the better of the two by quite a considerable way.

Match Ticket Price and enjoyment of the day. and yes we did get pumped but at least we were treated a bit better. That shows how important that treatment is and how irrelevant the actual match can be when visiting these grounds
