burdekin
Taken from Raith's site, Raith Rovers FC continues to closely monitor developments in the saga of who will replace the liquidated Rangers within Scottish football. As proud members of the Scottish Football League, we may soon be called upon to consider proposals for the way forward not only in relation to any vacancy that may arise in our league but also in respect of the future construction of the game in Scotland. Whilst we retain an open mind on the subject of league reconstruction, and will carefully consider any proposal put to us by the SFL board in this regard, the board of directors of Raith Rovers FC is unanimous in its view that we shall certainly not cast our vote in favour of any integrated plan that in our view compromises sporting integrity by involving the admission of any ‘Newco’ directly into Division One. Nuggets
Can't remember which clubs it was, but at least 2 first division club had said no to Rangers joining the first division. THE LARK SAINT
Meanwhile over on RM No licences have been applied for to join any league, I can only say that it doesn't look good. We were told licences had been applied for, the statement from the SFA contradicts that and they have issued us with a deadline of Friday to complete an application, feel quite numb. The Scottish Football Association have requested that Charles Green submits the necessary paperwork to apply for the transfer of Rangers' membership to his new company by Friday. The owner of Sevco 5088, which own the assets of the Ibrox club bought for £5.5m, has made a short, formal request to the governing body for their board to consider switching the membership from the old company to his newco. Green though is yet to provide necessary information for the request to be considered, such as the details of the shareholdings of his company and its structure, a business plan and information to comply with the Scottish FA's rules on fit and proper persons. The Scottish FA will not consider the request until any company owned by Green is playing in a recognised football league. The Scottish Premier League will not allow any new club to participate in its league, after six member clubs stated their intentions to vote against the transfer of Rangers' league share to the new company. The board of the Scottish Football League met on Monday to consider any future request to join their league by Green, which would be put to a vote of its member clubs within the coming weeks. AND- RFC Blue - Tweeted on 26th June 2012 @stvgrant is this what Green has in mind tomorrow?? admin of newco, as a lead to a members voluntary liquidation (known as a MVL). That allows the assets to be sold to any party not connected to newco, even if they are connected to oldco. So, while D&P could never sell the assets (Ibrox etc) to say CW or Ellis for £5.5m, the owners of the newco under an admin or MVL can sell for say £7. So you end up with say CW or Elllis owning all the assets for £7 and Zeus making over £1m But for admin2 or MVL the newco needs to get to the position wherev they cant trade. No league role or no players. This is known to IPs as a prepack plus1. Edited June 26, 2012 by THE LARK SAINT
babychunder
It sounds like they are headed for D3. Even there, the other teams won't want them as they will be too strong and do them out of a promo place next year. Schadenfreude...

SingaporeSaint
Southampton have announced that Anderlecht will replace Rangers in this year's Markus Liebherr Memorial Cup, which will also feature Arsenal, because of question marks about the strength of the Glasgow club's squad. Jimmy Wallace
It's looking increasingly likely they will have nowhere to play next season. If that's the case I hope they just die completely and sell Ibrox for housing. Any real football fans amongst their support may follow other teams, but I suspect the vast majority will not, and while they may seethe and fester for a while, there won't be a focus for their long term bigotry to be perpetuated. Good riddance to them. Now let's see if we can't get shot of the other lot!
