AthensSaint
http://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/latest/nine-bygone-scottish-football-grounds-1-3194518 Some very interesting facts in the above article that certainley I had no idea about. We should be feeling very guilty about setting one of the Annfield stands alight during a rammie in the eighties. Geez, they had there previous stadium bombed by the germans ffs. Just no respect !!! Also, my claim to fame on this article is that I named "The Wee Pavillion" at Airdrie......"Hectors House" during a moment of inspiration on the Broomfield terracing. Some other good stuff in the article. .

HOODLUM65
Couple of good quiz questions in that lot and oh the memories. Apart from St Bernards ground and Third Lanarks, have good and bad memories of the rest. Thought Kilbowie Park might have got a mention¡¡ Also, I do recall Third Lanarks keeper being the smallest in the league. Wee Jocky Robertson I believe he was known as. He was 5' 5 1/2" That was in the era when it was not uncommon for forwards to put the keeper ( while he was clutching the ball) into the back of the net. How Jocky must have suffered. double deluxe
It's quite sad seeing Cathkin Park just being left to rot like it is. Also miss trips to Love Street, the away stand was fantastic. A lot like being behind the goal at Tynecastle - right on top of the pitch. Ronaldo
braw .hectors hoose. in 1979 i went to airdrie by choo choo and got pished ,thats when i named hectors hoose hectors hoose Aye yer right Roy it's Hectors Hoose, I was just trying to be less confusing to people who don't know whate we're talking about and believe me that's a lot of people. The Clangers, The Magic Roundabout and Hectors House were all 10 minute programmes just before the 6 o'clock news for kids and adults who wanted to forget their days work immediately with a drink. I watched Batman with Adam Wrst. This is what a children's programme sounded like back then "Well children it was a time gone by when people laughed far too much really loved things called facts not gossip, made-up-stories and lies while only believing what they want to believe like today. What a strange time you may say, how could you get 26 soap operas on TV, or numerous unreal reality TV shows? Well I don't know how people survived. That is all for today children I will be back tomorrow." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- East Stirlingshire's ground was surreal. Still have good memories of Brockville, strange but felt like a proper football ground.
saint sid
ah the good old days, when fans could set fire to a wooden stand for fun, not like these days of nazi-esque style control where you can get escorted out and made to look like a criminal for lighting up a fag in the tool shed p.s. it was me that named hectors house, hectors house
Edstar101
I was involved in the planning stages for Broomfield and coined the term 'Hectors House' while the buidling was still nothing more than a blueprint....so there

So I tried to explain. "Hec","Tors","HOUSE". Simple. Mike

History was not my strong point at school, but got 75% in final year, but the year that you mention, was that not the year that You set out for the Grand City Hall in New York?
