  1. When walking out of the ground a little boy, about 8-9 years old, was saying to his dad, "That was really good dad. We scored against the best team in Scotland we must be good as well." A life long Saints supporter in the making. (Tried to put S A I N T Y but predictive text kept putting in Sanity. Don't think the two go together.)

  2. What a change from last week, even although beaten today, if had played like that last week would still be in the cup. What a difference with Midge being back in the middle. Don't get the whole Kane needs to bulk up thing, always looked a pretty solid type lad, think the difference at this level he doesn't always want to pull the trigger as much as on the lower leagues/development league when playing with the older heads in the first team, but for being the lightweight some are making out he doesn't half win a lot of balls by getting in about defenders, going to be a top player. Also Croft does a power of work and doesn't get dragged into the middle like other players that are put out there, just wish he had that extra yard that he had in his first spell. Seeing those arses from my home town going to their one game a season, and they are all "big celtic supporters", makes me realise what a special team we support and these guys will never know the feeling of what we had on the 17th May!!

    Alcohol Ban

This whole debate just confuses me. There is no intention whatsoever to allow folk to drink in their seats - this is not going to happen. Most clubs have a bar on the premises, or a pub or three near-by. What this boils down to is queuing forever at a grotty pie shop for a badly-drawn pint served in a grotty plastic glass, nae seats, and stewards wandering around looking for a squabble. Or you could be 200 yards away drinking comfortably in the club bar or nearby local.

Team finishing 12th gets relegated. Team in 11th goes into the Play-Off Final. Nothing happens to those in 10th. We've absolutely no chance of being near needingnto worry about all that though.

MOH does not get plaudits from the media he deserves this season. Which is good for us so no one will come sniffing for him come the summer.

  10. No. Just no. O'Halloran needs to be played on the wong as through the centre he ends up having no idea where to run, at least on the left his instructions are simple. He's also ****ing brutal at finishing, and I wouldn't trust him with one-on-ones.

    Celtic Game - 14Th Feb

Hard to imagine who could visit us who'd be better than those Luzern fans. This thing about the best fans in the world is a joke based on subjective parochiality (doubt that's a word, but it works)

muzz averages a goal every 7.3 games and midge a goal every 27.6 games. Can't really compare midge to attacking midfielders though. Even bloody gary mcdonald has a better goal ratio than spoony

    Celtic Game - 14Th Feb

We looked fragile at central defence but enough positives to give us a little hope. Midge took 20 mins to find the pace of the game but once we went two in midfield we never looked back. Thought we pressed and played with pace and intensity. Was Lappins best game for a while, Millar was excellent and Kane although he missed a couple he must be a nightmare to play against. Wins lots of the ball and very quick over short distances meaning he hassles defenders well. Also thought he competed well physically against the two biggest defenders in the league. Impressive. Two good saves from Gordon sealed it for them but I was actually impressed by celtic. Nice football.

I totally agree with this. People keep going on about how well we played but you get nothing for a good performance and we are on a very poor run just now. Since the turn of the year we have 1 win in 8 games. 5 points out of 21 in the league and we are out of the cup to lower league opposition. Not good enough by any team in the leagues standards.

I was exaggerating, but apparently he was good to have around the squad. So I heard, and based on my son observing the players interaction at Stirling Uni, including the confines of the gym. For now though it's like we do need a psychologist. Or something. Especially if they can get goals

    Pre Season

Tommy is in no danger. A lot of teams go through transitional periods after success - look at St Mirren and Killie for examples of how quickly clubs can plummet. We're doing OK and Tommy deserves leeway and time to put his plans into place. And lets not overstate things. We're top six, which, long term, is above most reasonable fans' expectations. I'd be amazed if we matched that next year. Measured by league results - even without our star striker - we're on a par with last season. Cups have been a disappointment, but we didn't get the benefit of favourable draws (last year we didn't meet a Premiership side until the semis of both competitions and QOS away was a far greater hurdle than Forfar at the equivalent stage). I'd like to see us playing better - and this season's signing policy is inexplicable - but let's not panic. And possibles v probables again, please.
