Set out at 0910 (for a journey to McD which normally takes 20minutes) and arrived in the City at 1110, due to traffic congestion caused by the closure of the Queens Bridge.

Was glad it was not windy, as the Friarton bridge might have been closed also, or I would probably still be sitting in the queue.

If it proves one thing, Perth definitely needs another Bridge north of the City URGENTLY, to prevent it being gridlocked repeatedly.

The actions of a few dim witted selfish drivers blocking the box junctions does not help the situation.

Thanks for your words of wisdom. (you still sober?)

First option is fine, however would be in danger of getting drenched by cars going in the opposite direction ploughing through the flood water and suffering hypothermia. (H & S rules chief).

Couldnae anticipate the hold up chief and besides had other things in town, sorry City, to attend to, including a dental appointment.

Third option was unlikely, on hearing River Isla had burst it's banks.

Anyway, should you no' be out of your box, assisting your colleagues in getting the Rail lines straightened out, to allow the Trains to run as normal. (late)

(forgot, your union won't allow it)

A city built on a flood plain gets flooded occassionaly, who'd have thought that.

(Im not far from the almond so my view may change very quickly if it bursts its banks this winter)

The pipeline laid in Almondbank to reroute water as part of the £15m flood defence scheme to prevent flooding in the area has got to be ripped up, costing the Council (us ) £20,000.

The cost to reroute the water again is expected to cost the Council (us again)  TENS of thousands more.

Apparently the Council (not us) went ahead and laid the original pipeline on private land without the landowners consent.

The landowner and the Council could not come to an agreement to resolve the situation.

It is reported that the Landowner, Douglas McIntyre (could it be the same one?), had been refused planning permission to build flats on the same site, after complaints from locals AND the Councils Flood Prevention Team.

Would appear to me that the Council departments were fully aware therefore that the land belonged to McIntyre (or his registered company) so why the hell have the Council squandered OUR money, while feathering their nest at 2High St, in times of austerity?
