ancientsaint
But how come some other pitches around Perth without the money to spend on pitches were payable today how much have we wasted on the pitch and its still a disaster wither a bit of rain and wind can get it called off no excuses am sorry but It's unacceptable We both have different views Thats what the forum is all about -different views -god it would be boring if we all agreed with everything that is written. We debated the problem , nothing wrong in that. Dont think anyone isnt saying we have had pitch problems - that is up to the club to sort out and hopefully they will. saint sid
noticed Aberdeen won a compensation case against a rock concert promoter for damage to their pitch.Geoff should have a word with Sir Elton for a donation to repairs! or lets blame the jehovah's!!!!!!!!!!! truth is, we have a plumber on the board that cant sort out or overview a simple drainage problem???? its pathetic and embarrasing:oops:

Richard Gordon was slagging Stuart Cosgrove today saying surprise surprise games cancelled at McD, its becoming a weekly occurence.

WilliePullar
or lets blame the jehovah's!!!!!!!!!!! truth is, we have a plumber on the board that cant sort out or overview a simple drainage problem???? its pathetic and embarrasing:oops: That 'simple' drainage problem is below the level of the under soil heating pipes. The pitch, USH and several layers need completely excavated to renew all the drainage after 20+ years of sand and silt clogging it all up and compacting. mainstand
That 'simple' drainage problem is below the level of the under soil heating pipes. The pitch, USH and several layers need completely excavated to renew all the drainage after 20+ years of sand and silt clogging it all up and compacting. And then we will have a completely new pitch which will again take time to bed in.
WilliePullar
And then we will have a completely new pitch which will again take time to bed in. exactly. Its a nightmare. there is no quick fix solution for this problem. The pitch is going to get a lot worse before the end of the season. Carse of Gowrie Saint
I would hazard a guess that the pitch would have been playable for a junior game or a supporters game but not playable for an SPL match. Big difference. A pitch is either playable or not, nothing to do with the standard of match taking place. However, referee's seem to be more cautious than they were in the past. 10 years ago the match would have went ahead.
