Havana Saint
Saw the incident. Thought Dickov's comments to the interviewer and smug attitude towards the alleged incident reflects the issue football has in dealing with racism. How on earth can a manager defend the unknown? What ever was said, was deeply upsetting for the boy. MySpazz
eltel
One way to look at this is - It is a set of fans , from the opposing team, looking to cause trouble by bringing allegations against a decent, honest professional footballer? dan loves saints
Saintdunc
So Croft, who's Oldham team were losing 1-0 deep into injury time, races after the ball to take a throw in when the Blades ball boy kicks the ball away instead of meekly handing it over. Croft says he asked him what he was doing right in front of the home fans. Oldham equalise and Croft goes to the young lad to shake his hand after the game ends. The lad refuses and is said to be visibly upset by the event. Strangely it is reported that the lad could not actually recall what Croft had said!!!! The Blades FAns nearest the incident said Croft had racially abused the lad and being upstanding citizens thought it best to report it. If I was racially abused I am pretty sure that I would have an idea what the comment was. Just saying. ODAB
One way to look at this is - It is a set of fans , from the opposing team, looking to cause trouble by bringing allegations against a decent, honest professional footballer? Another way to look at it is that fans are defending a former player with no idea of what actually happened. Danny Wilson was on SSN saying the accusation did not come from the club adn he doesn't know what happened. What ever was said shouting at a young laddie, even if was being a tube, is hardly what you would expect from a decen, honest professional footballer. Yer right ODAB, It seems Croft has become the type of player that that digusting excuse for a human, Houstie, could sign up for the Arabs. His behaviour is ( if proved) very poor and indefensible... Unfortunately I believe United's budget has been blown on Berlusconi-esque Bunga Bunga parties in Houstie's offices and on the a legal team to place injunctions on this information reaching the press. If only Houstie was due a massive pay-off soon that he could use to fund this signing. The ghost of Jim Morton

SingaporeSaint
Sounds like Croftie has got in with a bad crowd, like he did with the likes of SuperSaint whilst in Perth. Drinking in The Burns Lounge and all that. It's not good for his reputation.
