Anyone any suggestions or must-sees around Perth for Luzern-Supporters that are going to be there for 3-4 days?!

I would suggest you guys consider a Whisky tour for the day.

Ive not been to all on that list. But organise to do two or three on the same day. We don't have the Alps but Perthshire has stunning scenery and the drive between each one will give you an opportunity to see Scotland at its best. And by the end of the day you will be well happy

Edinburgh is only an hour away on the train, lovely city with great places to eat and drink, would recommend a day spent there. Thursday is student night in Perth, so anybody not having to leave too early on the Friday may want to sample the delights of the Loft where drinks are cheap and it's open until 2.30. It's not for the feint hearted though!

From Basel Airport to Lucerne (bus from Basel airport to Basel train station, 20 minutes, then direct train, 75 minutes) is CHF 72.40 return (about 48£)

From Zurich Airport to Lucerne (direct train, 1 hour) is CHF 56.00 return (about 37£)

From Geneva Airport to Lucerne (direct train, 3 hours) is CHF 160.00 return (about 105£)

I noticed you can buy train tickets online. Is it best to buy in advance or can you buy on the day you travel? I'm coming from Geneva

as a Crieff person, I'd have to recommend the Glenturret Distillery. The oldest in Scotland, I think, and it's a good fun tour. A trip out of Crieff up into the Sma'Glen would be good. Our mountains aren't as big as your mountains, but they're still very nice.

or you could take a trip up to Dundee and see at first hand Third World poverty...

Lucerne dudes, I am allowed to say this because I have not lived in Perth or Scotland for a very long time. You have probably just been drawn against a team that has some of the most friendliest and generous supporters that you will ever meet on your football travels. Keep asking all these questions as the people of Perth will want you to have the most fantastic time that you possibly can when you travel to Scotland in July. The center of Perth is not the most exciting place in the world at times but the surrounding area and the people are very wonderful.  A great alternative way of staying in Perth is Bed and Breakfast (B and B). It is half the price of a hotel and its like staying in someones home. You also need to get a "drinking" Head Quarters where you can meet and drink with St Johnstone fans long before match day. Plenty people on this Forum will help ensure you have a great visit. They will welcome you all with open arms :)

Baltic Air (low cost airline) fly direct from Aberdeen to Riga every day. How the hell could we not have got a draw like that for travel plans !!

Surely Sleezy jet could run a few charter flights out of scone areodrome to a similar small air field in Switzerland.

Getting the time off during the Commonwealth games for an away trip just ain't gonna happen, not even an option, even if the wallet allowed :?

Never mind I'll have a direct flight on my doorstep to Riga for the next round if we draw them after they dump the dons

Same price if you buy in advance or on the day of travel. No need to book in advance, really...

PS: Really looking forward to the trip to Scotland. Sounds like it's going to be a good one! :)

A couple of questions:

Does anyone know roughly what a taxi from Perth to Lochearnhead would cost?

Does McDiarmid Park suffer from over zealous nazi stewarding?

According to Rome2Rio it would be £75 by taxi, and yes we do have over zealous Nazi stewards,it's a well know fact in our league, unfortunately.

Bus is quoted as £10,not sure if true, and would take about 10 minutes longer

You would be pushing three figures for that I'd imagine, it's a good hour away.

Stewards at McD have improved over the years and they won't stop you from standing if everybody else is.

Another question for our new Swiss friends, this time about swisspornarea:

I see this stadium plan with ticket prices for our match - http://www.fcl.ch/mm/mm004/P_EL.pdf . Will away fans be in section C6 with a

ticket price of CHF 20?

Danke sehr!

Yes. It's cheaper for away fans than home fans, although our season tickets holders get a free ticket.

And yet another question for the Luzern fans. What time do you think kick off will be?

It's on our official site as 19:30.

Does anyone know the kickoff time and ticket prices for the game in Perth?

We're staying in an apartment next to the ground by the looks of things. What's the easiest way into the centre for the pubs etc. how long a walk is it? I guess there will be regular busses since it's next to the stadium? Cheers. Edited by Nick

There are busses every 10 or 15 minutes which take about 10 minutes and every 15 minutes you'll have a train which takes 2 minutes to the main station. The main station is right in the city centre where you can find loads of pubs, restaurants and stuff within a 5 minutes walk.

If you walk into the centre you'll also pass the supporter's pub of us. You'll be welcome there for sure. The walk from the stadium to the main station lasts about 15 minutes, maybe a bit longer.
