Is Tannadice playable?

In all seriousness though Scottish football is going to have to get creative if the threshold for what determines a playable pitch is so high. We're going to get more rain in the years to come and Dens won't be the only permanently unplayable pitch.

I was impressed with how awful the pitch is looking at Parkhead! The biscuit tin must be glued shut there.

BBC still not even reporting it yet! Shambles. When will it be played now?

Could be long enough. How many games backlog have Dundee got now. Could be to their disadvantage.

Misty last night and just drizzle today. May have been different in Dundee but just looks like pitch is not fit for purpose.

Never mind the new stadium will sort things out.

Rained all night in Dundee last night. Blue skies now though. Can't see why this can't be played tonight.

United away to Arbroath today. Don't suppose the game will be off at sunny Arbroath seeing as it's miles away from Dundee.

Arbroath game will be off well then if Dundee/Angus has had so much rain… I mean they are a Championship club with an ancient stadium and fewer resources

Good of Stan to get a few digs in:

"I'm very frustrated for our supporters who had bought tickets in large numbers who were looking forward to backing the team at Dens Park and I thank them for that," said Saints CEO Stan Harris.

"We were told at 9.30am of a precautionary pitch inspection but were advised that things looked to be promising in terms of the game going ahead and so to find out at 11.30am that the match was off was very disappointing.

"We do understand the problems that waterlogged pitches can cause and that is why we invested over one hundred thousand pounds last summer to improve the drainage on our own playing surface.

"I'd like to thank our ticket office staff who, with it being paper tickets, manually administered the sale of just short of 2,000 tickets."

If Dundee and Saints get beat in cup we could play it on Saturday 10th February but I would assume earlier postponed game would take president.

Hope CL/AK or going to take in the Airdrie _ Raith and Dunfermline _ Airdrie games. We can't leave anything to chance if we want a run in cup.

Watching the Arbroath game. Pitch couldn’t even be described as “heavy”. Just a normal Scottish football pitch in January. Shocking that SPL Dundee couldn’t get a game on and Arbroath could 15 miles along the road.

Theres a game being played at Lochee Park within Dundee just now.

It won’t happen, but couldn’t they just play it on Saturday? It’ll be nearly a month since we last played by the time the Airdrie game comes around.

Already been confirmed itll be after the winter break.

At least we are not going into break on a defeat. Now almost three stress free weeks.

And results have gone very well for us today. Livi and Ross County getting beat and Motherwell being held to a draw. If we had played and won today we would have been up 7th joint and 3 points behind top six going into the winter break.

Yeah you have to assume that Aberdeen will not be down there at the end of season so no other teams have gotten away from us. Thought Bair had given Motherwell 3 points though.
