Failed to win against 4 lower league teams on the bounce now. Ok, 2 were friendlies, but all the same - “prep for the campaign” and all that…
Feel crap about this, I gave him the benefit of the doubt all last season but I now won’t be back until Davidson’s gone. Flame me for being not a “true fan” all you like, but fans need to vote with their feet now otherwise nowt will change.

The football, (as a spectator who watched every match on stream) has been dire all year. Not entertaining at all, that's the truth, and we were almost relegated. We need to be careful that the exuberance of those last two glorious goals and fun night out doesn't cover the cracks we have all painfully felt. But like others have said all along, he ain't going anywhere, so I hope he has learned from this and can improve as a manager and bring some better football to the club.

He is an ultra - ultra defensive. He sets us up to be solid and to defend. Celtic’s movement and tenacity was outstanding, but what a disappointment. Our players, especially at the back, looked to take a touch but before they could get a second it was taken off them. Left at 5. When is CD leaving? We can’t defend our way to safety or to promotion. Things were grim at times under TW but this has been a hard shift to watch this season. Utterly dreadful.

We have got Cammy Ballantyne, need to let him loose as we did McCann now and see if he grows into it, Probably had a better loan experience than McCann  had so now is his time!

Stevie May scoring the winner against the Dons in SC semi final at ibrox will never be topped for me.
Only around 3500 Saints fans there to witness it in the flesh after league cup semi gubbing by Dons at Tynecastle earlier in season.
Never felt emotion like it, tears streaming down my face as realised the impossible dream, we had reached the long sought promised land. And that was as soon as the 2nd goal went in, just knew we were going to be in final, no nervous finish for a change.
local lad who had been getting slagged all game by opposition WTFISM came up with the goods twce when it mattered most and sent us into our first ever SC final, everything else that has happened since stems from this game.
St johnstone had arrived on big stage and have not looked back since,
Club, players, managers, fans no longer dreamers but believers.

It's right up there. Interestingly, maybe it's not the greatest single moment, but one of the most iconic. How may other goals could saints fans know what one it is just by the bit of commentary?
For me, it is either May's 2nd in the 2014 semi vs Aberdeen or Maccas goal in the final. at that point, we all knew we had won the cup.

    Cool. Cool as a cucumber.
That was the turning point, when the modern era started.
Everything else since then has been in the shadow of treanors penalty against aidrie all those years ago

We'll never know.  He's left us, gone to a club where he's never really been a regular starter, and now finds himself loaned out elsewhere - all presumably making more money than he was making here.  Depends what's important to him I guess.  Ok, double cup win for us, but the fact is - Saints didn't need him to achieve that.  So the answer to your question is "who cares?"

The SG stuff is advisory because they have no devolved power to make it mandatory. What they can do and have done is effectively ban events where emergency services provision is required by withdrawing that provision. So top tier football is effectively banned, cinemas are not. The imminent UK ban will be mandatory, but it may not be universal, at least not yet.
The confusion is partly because the UK government has not got its communications act in gear yet (the daily news conferences starting today will help greatly), and partly because the Scottish government is moving faster than the UK government, and organisations and the general public are moving much faster than both of them. It’s quite confusing.
What is clear is that we’re  all going to be required to isolate more and more (possibly gradually, possibly in big steps), and a full lockdown may only be a few weeks away. There is no rational reason whatsoever to believe the very restrictive measures on the continent will not be replicated here, and some reason to believe it will be worse here because the UK response has been slow.
In this context, restarting football is just not a priority, and pretty soon even talking about it would be fairly ridiculous.
Shit, it would appear, is real. Take care everybody.

I believe things will ease back back late June based on closely following our china operation and their feedback on the cycle. But they shut everything down for 4-6 weeks once they realized the severity, west has been slow to follow suit. Virus will come back again in 4th quarter, and by then we should have as good a vaccine as we can in place...our governor is very aggressive here, saying schools will probably be out for rest of school year (shut for 4 weeks now), and shut down all restaurants, bars, public gatherings starting 9pm tonight. Odd and scary times, think ill be more on the preppers forums than footy ones for a while!

I think what you’re saying is completely wrong.

Infected areas in China shut down completely. People have been forced to be housebound for 5+ weeks, and still are.

meanwhile here the schools are open, Bath half marathon went ahead yesterday, as did Cheltenham festival last week.

There is no danger that we’ll be anything like China in getting this under control.

Best estimates for a vaccine right now is 12-18 months because it has to go through the process. It has to go through a substantial animal testing then human testing process before anything can be produced to scale

Funny enough was talking about Ian Gibson today , I'm involved in a football memories group (through my work) and have an old saint's scout called Bill Walker involved in this. He suffers from early dementia but his recollection of his scouting days with saints gives me a laugh. Bill told me today he actually left saints because of Gibson, when Gibson got the player/manager gig, he told Bill that he had a good mate who was a scout at Dundee Utd and was interested in bringing him to Saints. Bill told him tae ram it and quit there and then, still recalls Gibson was as crap a manager as he was a player ...
(Bill says the best player he ever got to sign for saints was the great Don McVicar)
