rik2304
Is Tade's 2nd year an option one?
mad saints fan
The more I've thought about his contract I wish we'd managed to agree a deal that gives us an option for another year if he started either a percentage of games or played a specific number of minutes. The Special One
Back to the topic of may: I'm glad he's decided to sign up for another year (I thought he would leave to be honest). In my opinion I love him as a player but I don't think he'll be the messiah which some feel he will be to our success, I just hope he can prove himself and bang some goals in the SPL.
fergiefootball
Why would he play Vine in central midfield. That's a completely bizarre thing to suggest. Plus we will have cover in there for the seasons start. Erm I didn't mention the central position ,,I meant he plays on the left side but mainly as a forward in a 3 ...but he may well play left midfield .bizarre is abit ott mate??. You tell me who is gonna play where then ??
fergiefootball
Lomas is a tinkerer who if you look at a lot of the games last season plays people out of position a lot of the time so I don't think its bizarre to suggest that Vine if he stays may play further back. chips
Good to see him signed and fingers crossed for the fella, there seems to have been a fair bit of hype surrounding May with his scoring exploits in the 1st div. I hope he wont feel the pressure with the expectation some of us are having. If all goes well for him and he takes this chance to make an impact it really will feel like we have just signed a new player. ..... Go on Stevie McCarry One Nil
SlickDT
The problem for me is May will struggle to start in the lone striker role, and likely get more game time wider, where I can't see him prospering. Glad he and Caddis are on board and looking like they may get alot more playing time due to lack of finances.

Just wait till May misplaces a few passes or fluffs a couple of chances and the boo boys start up. All I ask is that they give him a run of games to bed in. After all, we are traditionally slow starters.
Jamie_Beatson
I'd definitely give him the first half of the season at least to prove himself. If he manages eight or more for the season he'll have outperformed any of our strikers this year. Emma
ex-montrosesaintee
His 26 this term included several penalties. Wonder if he'll be choice penalty taker. Also, Caddis takes them in the u-20s?

Emma
I think exactly that - he needs to be given a run in the team, our strikers were hardly prolific last season. fergiefootball

fergiefootball
Anyway youl be lucky to see a penalty at mcd if you can only drag yourself all the way from Edinburgh 7 times over a season haha.
andy rhodes fancy watch
Taking and scoring penalties could give him the confidence boost he may well need , if he gets a game .
fergiefootball
And missing could destroy any confidence gained? all ifs and buts.
andy rhodes fancy watch
He's a goalscorer , if he doesn't have the confidence with a free shot at goal from 12 yards he should give up .
Edstar101
We don't really have a consistent burier of pens.....even Liam was a bit shaky (to say the least). Mark Traynor was the last guy in a Saints strip I had total confidence in from the spot!!
