ex-montrosesaintee
Gutted for Mannus - but it at least reduces the chance of a cheeky bid before the end of the week that might have left us in deeper water. Â Hopefully recovery will be quick, and Banks can add to his growing tally of clean sheets in the interim.

Templar Saint
To try and get this thread back near topic as Alan is injured and there is limited resources available to get another experienced keeper in for cover why does Tommy no just don the gloves again. Â He is not that much older than Banksie.
ex-montrosesaintee
Frazer Wright could play in goal. Â The number of world class saves he's made recently without the referee seeing is remarkable, especially considering some of the hand-ball decisions that are made (ours v Hearts being a prime example). MrBored
Given that Sat. is our biggest game of the season (outside the european ones) its just as well it's Mannus that got the injury. Had it been Banks we would have really been in trouble. Â Looking at it positively (if you can) at least Mannus will be here after the window closes and Banks is a competent keeper. He also retired due to injury to his knee so I think we would better with Hurst than Tommy! haha.

MrBored
Why is this this case!!!! surely if this situation had occured it would have led to Zander being recalled!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Simply that had it been Banks, Mannus was already suspended for Sat and I'm not sure we can recall Clark. Â Even if we can, its a big game to throw him into with little experience. Templar Saint
Mad Ref it is really quite simple.  Goalkeeper is a specialist position whereas other positions can be covered by versatile players or by playing different formations.  No manager would have a formation that did not include a goalkeeper...not even Levine. Honest Saints Fan
I was just pointing out it doesn't have to be an 'emergency'. The transfer window is open, there is no emergency about it.

The Special One
Full confidence in banks for the semi. Would even like to see hurst getting a start for a couple of league games, very impressive for the u20s when I've watched him. Jad
