Dave Ferg
Has anyone anymore info on the reported departure of our physio? Not wanting to stir up any controversy here but we have had our fair share of injuries and associated niggles recently. We seem to have an unprecedented level of staff in the physiotherapy/sports science side of things but this doesn't appear to reflect in a reduction of players dropping out of squads. Would anyone else be up for crossing the water and kidnapping young Fearghal to bring him back?

rik2304
Time to promote a physio from the youth team imo.
lang toon saintie
It is my understanding that he physio had handed in his resignation and was working his notice period. This was due to a breakdown of the working relationship between him and the manager.I also heard that a dispute regarding Chris Millar's fitness to play on Sunday lead to his early departure. Saintdunc
I also heard that a dispute regarding Chris Millar's fitness to play on Sunday lead to his early departure. If true, then the Physio must have won that argument, because Chris Millar was, once again, not in the Match Day squad.
mainstand
If true, then the Physio must have won that argument, because Chris Millar was, once again, not in the Match Day squad. From what TW said on the radio Foster had felt his thigh muscle injury during the warm up but they thought it was okay and then as soon as he kicked the ball it went. I wonder if that could have been an issue at the weekend.
RandomGuy
Apparently theres been issues the relating to diagnosis, and treatment, of the players. The club seems to believe that the injuries could've been treated far quicker than they have been, especially the likes of Millar and Wotherspoon. Foster was just the final straw. You wonder how much of an impact Mackays retirement had on the decision too. mainstand

Bluemoon
Perhaps says more about Tommy that he is now on his 3rd physio in 4 years! Funny how Mike McBride, the Scotland physio, wasn't good enough for Tommy either and he got rid of him?!

rik2304
A couple of the physios left to go to other jobs. Like the miracle worker guy who was homesick for Ireland.

Funny how Mike McBride, the Scotland physio, wasn't good enough for Tommy either and he got rid of him?! Not strictly true. McBride went back down south, when he was here he was also with Spire. Feargal went back home . So don't think it does say much about Tommy.
garydavidson
Looking at it the other way I guess it is good players ignore their own bodies as they are desperate to play for Saints. Dave Ferg
Bluemoon
McBride was given his notice by Tommy in March 2015. Then he went down to Wigan due to his friendship with Gary Caldwell, I know him reasonably well so know this to be true.

saintgscot
Funny was at hearts game and was by dugout and thought the assistant physiology was nice. But during game she sat in dugout with gloves on and never moved as someone else was there to help physio.

Abernethy Saint
Might be a student on attachment? Not qualified/not allowed to dive in.
mainstand
Saintgscot Abernethy The physio is fully qualified. I think you will find that the Doc assists the physio during matches her role is to deal with any players that need treatment etc after they come off the pitch.
