slf
One for the older readers, but Joe "The Fridge" McGurn was surprisingly skilful some weeks and rank rotten couldn't kick his erse the next. Sometimes he managed it in the same game, seem to remember him beating a couple and slotting home a screamer at Fir Park a couple of minutes after tripping over the ball. joe mcgurn was magic ,a wholehearted player. Scott1884
jenkinson Yeah, he had that double shuffle trick that took him past fullbacks. However once they got to grips with that he was totally ineffective. Swankie looked great against Rangers but against Dundee it looked like the barracking from the Dee fans got to him & he was absolute garbage. blueheaven
However once they got to grips with that he was totally ineffective. Not sure I agree with that - Jenkinson was a tremendous player right up until the end of his time here, provided he could be arsed. Far too often he looked disinterested, but even at the very end of his Saints career he was still capable of bamboozling opponents when he felt like it. In fact, I think the same could be said of Attila Sekerlioglu.
Remberbuck
Another from the past, John McGrain. The club's record signing at the time his endearing contribution to memory was in a 0-0 match against Clyde where he took a top speed, full length dive, missed the ball and headed the post. (It was the Saturday before Christmas, sleet, and the match's other mark on history was that it was the lowest ever old First Division attendence). lossiesaint
I think every proven striker that came to saints.... with a few exceptions. It seems as soon as they join saints, the goals dry up and only return when they leave! Exceptions would be Brogan, Dodds and Grant.

silver_blue
If you blinked you'd have missed him but my favourite is Jimmy Wright from about 1977 ish. Scored a 25 yard free kick at Dens to make it 3 - 3 after we'd been 3 - 0 down. Coags got two jammy goals thanks to the ref to win 5 - 3. Also seen him rip Hearts to bits beating about 4 men but with no end product. Thought he'd be a star but he vanished. wee john and Dave Ferg

lossiesaint
What about Gordon Drummond? Someone must have told him sometime that he was in fact a keeper... never proved it what I can remember. Only thing he ever seem to catch was the hairy caterpillar on his top lip before every match
