Well I do not think three more signings are going to do it. More like six or seven.

I know our financial results are likely to be bad but really believe we need to get the cheque book out and target some players in the championship who can bring a bit of grit and fight to this team.
We were so outfought today and the damage to team morale must be devastating to the team and in particular the youngsters. We were continually pushed off the ball and outfought.

What is the situation with Chris Kane. Often get an update on other injuries but all quiet on him?

Did he not get injured playing 5 a sides when he was approaching full fitness? If true then perhaps he has been disciplined. Maybe someone made that up and he just had a setback.

He looked pretty sprightly walking around the Main Stand today.  CD had previously insinuated it was a mental thing with him and a reluctance to push himself in training. I think his contract is only until January. I could be wrong.

No sign of McClelland yet.

Beginning to think apart from him who we apparently awaiting international clearance we have nobody else lined up.

Why don't we just go for Peter Pawlett and Gary McKay Stevens. No international clearance required.

We shouldn't go for those players because they aren't good enough and those sorts of signings are part of the reason we are in this state.

If we go for those players its a sign of desperation.  Two who we were previously interested in under the previous manager.

We've already missed out on Deas and Kennedy due to lack of funds.  I also believe we had a provisional discussion with Fitzwater only to lose out to another Premiership team.  To me that means we are shopping in a cheaper market trying to provide a platform for younger English players.

If we start going down the davidson route now I'll be even more concerned.

Simple fact is we need to be offering more financially to attract the players we desperately need. The fact we can’t do this will be the reason we lose our Premiership status this season. Thanks to you CD and Flax. Thanks also to bulletproof who has proved beyond all doubt he is not a patch on his father

Don't disagree with anything you said and I want us to sign younger players and give youth a chance but it wasn't successful on Saturday so maybe we need some experience.

Looks like we could get a decision on Elkan Baggott by the end of this week one way or another.

Everything crossed that on 12th August against we take the pitch with Baggott in the starting 11 - looks like a real gem.

Have you seen him play? Genuinely curious.

We had £5m in the bank. Have we blown all of that?

Losses over past season are near hitting the £2m mark, so budgets been drastically cut to make amends. I've no idea of our finances at the mo, but can understand the steadying of the ship this season

Macca quoted in the Daily H*n today saying his ankle is showing no improvement and will see another specialist on Friday

Also Nicky C going for another scan this week   Time to loosen the purse strings

Thoughts on Florian Kamberi? Still only 28. Scored 30 goals in a couple of years at Hibs.

Too much of a Callum signing?

Would be a very good signing, but I don't think we'd sign another striker as we haven't the budget. Would be amazing to have him and Jephcott, with May & Clark as back up but there isn't the money.

Probably makes it less likely that he will go anywhere, on loan or a permanent move.

Yeah and he’s been given a squad number. I still think a loan until January is an option that would should both parties. It’s whether it not we are willing to offer him a guaranteed X number of games.

With McCelland coming in, Macca will be reluctant to drop both Gordon and Considine(captain and go to man). He will also be reluctant to guarantee a 20 year old 15-20 starts - regardless of his obvious talent.

Tough one for Saints but given the state we are on, I’d be very very tempted to give Ipswich guarantees on the number of minutes he will get and start the season with a centre half pairing of McClelland and Baggott. A proper fresh start!
