Hibernian V St.Johnstone - Saturday 6th April

What chance we can have a Saturday evening to enjoy a few drinks celebrating a win?

Odds and form suggest this to be unlikely but we need to get on with it and try and find the rarest of beasts this year an away win. Hibs have settled down in to a pretty capabe outfit and have aspirations of their own to make the top six so they will be up for it.

Sadly this game might be too soon for Dre Wright so exepect to see something along the lines of last weeks reverse to Dundee. I'd love to to have Jais and Kimpy start but i suspect Jais up front with his blistering pace and Clark in behind.

I'd be happy if we got to the break even and see if we can raise our game and attack second half instead of chasing from behind.

Let the moaning begin.

It'd be interesting to see how Sidibeh and Kimpioka would work as a partnership. I'm not entirely sure why Kimpioka was dropped in the first place, just as he seemed to be settling in and finding a bit of form. I do quite like having one of them on the bench though, so that they can come on and run at tired defenders. I'd actually quite like to start with May and Sidibeh up front in this one, with May sitting a bit further back and Sidibeh as the out-and-out striker.

Suspect it'll be a very similar line-up to what we saw in the Dundee game, but personally I don't want to see that same midfield again. Gallacher's not a left winger and we had no one sticking to the right hand side at all. On balance I'd rather see Carey on the left if he's available.

No idea who should play on the right (maybe Franczak, if he's back up to starting fitness?) but wasn't Connor Smith originally touted as a winger when we signed him?

Maybe this just shows the extent of where we're at but if Cammy MacPherson's back I'd probably be looking at bringing him into the midfield.

I wouldn't rule this out and agree it would be interesting to see if May can spark a different attack strategy.

Nope. No way. Never.

You guys think MacPherson (if fit) would be a worse option than Kucheriavyi, Gallacher, Connor Smith or Ali Crawford in our midfield?

Levein said last week he was lacking fitness and struggling a bit due to a lack of game time before joining us.

Judging by Saturday they all lack fitness and that's why they lost the second goal.

You can excuse lack of skill but not fitness and workrate which is the minimum a club should be looking at and the fact they don't have those qualities must be down to coaching staff.

Too late this season now.

It makes you wonder what they did during the breaks in the season, no excuse for full time players to not be fit

Drey Wright interview behind a pay wall.

What has the new media team done apart from put interviews behind a pay wall.

Going by the interview I wouldn't expect him to be back before the split.

The young guys used to get the players involved in quizzes etc to give the supporters something but there is nothing coming out of McDiarmid at the moment.

If MacPherson has a million haters, then I am one of them. If he has ten haters, then I am one of them. If he has only one hater then that is me. If MacPherson has no haters, then that means I am no longer on earth. If the world loves MacPherson, then I am against the world.

...

The Perth boss also revealed himself as a fan of the 25-year-old, whose deal expires in May.

“We like Cammy,” said Levein.

“I didn’t think we’d see him before the end of this season.

“He’s out running and kicking balls now, but it’s still in its infancy really, and the last thing we’d want to do is push him and something happens again

“So we’ll need to be patient and let him decide when he’s ready.

“But the way he’s going, I could see him playing two or three times before the end of the season.

“The day Cammy tore his thigh, on a Friday, we’d planned to start him the next day. He tried a long pass and it just snapped.

“He was very much part of the thought process for being able to help us.

It’s been a little bit of a nightmare for him. He had the op, they stitched it, which means that there is much more strength in the muscle.

“It will be good to see him back. He’s not had much luck here at all. He needs a proper pre-season, I think, and he needs things to go well through that pre-season, because there’s no doubt he’s a talented boy.

“We saw that in training even the first couple of weeks we came in here that he can play"

I’ve been pretty vocal about players currently at Saints who I simply cannot stomach but I just don’t totally get the hate for MacPherson. I understand some of it because he hasn’t lived up to the billing but it’s not his fault the way he was brought in under the Ali McCann saga.

He IS talented. And I do believe he is of, albeit lower half, SPL quality on his day. If(BIG if) we kept him fit for a season and I half I think we would really see a solid centre midfielder at this level.

We need to clear the decks of guys like Considine, McGowan, Carey, Gallagher and Crawford.

A midfield of Sven Sprangler, Matt Smith and Cammy MacPherson wouldn’t be the worst midfield in the league next year if Levein can sign a couple of decent defenders then we have the makings of a team that can put the past couple of seasons behind them.

Keltjens, Sidibeh, Robinson and Kimpioka will be up to another level next season with a preseason under their belt.

We've seen none of the supposed talent.

He obviously fancies himself as a bit of a dead ball specialist.

He's a nothing player. He didn't show any consistency at St Mirren under different management and was given opportunities and he's shown nothing here when he's been fit.

He might do a job at Clyde or similar and I'd include him in your to be punted list.

Do you think Robinson will be here next season and would you want him here . Contract at Wigan up at end of season.

McPherson ,there is a player in there but only shows 1 in every 6 games , also injury prone so I would let him go.

if Le vein want to keep him I would hope he would get a couple of games to show what he's got.
