PauloPerth
Listening to the radio, whilst richard Gordon was talking about stevie May scoring to put sheffield we'd 1-0 up, derek ferguson burst in to say chris Kane just equalised for Dumbarton! south inch
Jesus Christ. Heard he was approached but was not prepared to go full time, wanted to keep on his trade as a joiner. gingermunkie and Saintdunc
gingermunkie
Why is no one willing to take a punt on him though? Was interviewed a few weeks ago and he claimed he was being too fussy himself. Also sure he said he'd only had one offer from scotland(fiver each way says Rangers or Dundee). It's not just a case of us taking a punt on him, but him taking a punt on us too. Edited September 21, 2014 by gingermunkie
RandomGuy
Why is no one willing to take a punt on him though? Because he's an injury prone luxury player who's wage demands are higher than his worth. The last possible thing we need is yet another paceless, positionless forward who'll have as many bad games as he does good. You can believe all his shite about being "fussy" if you want, simple fact is he's still without a club and we're almost in October, a player of his reputation wouldn't be in that position if there wasn't something wrong Pictdownunder and Saintdunc
mainstand
Random guy How do you know his wage demands are too high?? Is that fact or just you speculating? I am sure if you searched back you would find details from Motherwell which seemed to suggest that he was not a high earner.

I am sure if you searched back you would find details from Motherwell which seemed to suggest that he was not a high earner. For a start Motherwell never even paid his wages, a member of the board paid it out his own pockets. Motherwell released him as he was constantly injured and was shite for the vast majority of the season, and the board member didn't think he was getting value for money meaning the club would have to take on the wage, which they didn't want to do. Regardless of what he wanted it would be too much, as he wouldn't offer enough. All this is from paper reports from the club and player. Jamie_Beatson
Constantly injured? He played 30 games last season so he can't have been injured that often.
RandomGuy
Constantly injured? He played 30 games last season so he can't have been injured that often. He had three spells out with injuries, almost exactly at the first quarter of the season, halfway through and then at the third quarter mark. He only completed the 90 minutes six times. Regardless of all this I don't think he's what we need just now, would happily be proven wrong

He was majority released because of his wage. it wasn't justifiable.
mainstand
Perth Seany that cant be the case if the Club were not paying for him though, which is the point Random Guy makes above.
rik2304
I think McFadden would do a handy job and provide a creative/unpredictable spark that we clearly need just now. PauloPerth

I suppose we could bring him in on pay as you play type contract and see how he goes. Mind you TW might not even like him.
Havana Saint
We need something. We are one dimensional at the moment. Wouldnae surprise me and I would welcome the signing.
PauloPerth
I would take faddy in a second. We aren't creating anything; a player who can run at opponents and be a bit unpredictable could be exactly what we need. Not sure if wages would be within our range though. Cagerf
I may be a bit simple but when I was made redundant in the 90s I took jobs that were paying less just to get back in job market. (And better than benefits.). Why would a footballer not sign a short term contract just to get back in shop window? Some money is better than no money! uphallsaint
RandomGuy
Perth Seany that cant be the case if the Club were not paying for him though, which is the point Random Guy makes above. They were going to have to though, as the person who was paying his wages wasn't willing to continue doing so. PerthSeany

Inchcolm
Tommy has confirmed he wants someone in:http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29318639 He states defencively we are ok. Hate to disagree with TW only the bottom 2 have conceded more goals. Or is talking about the number of defenders we have compared to strikers? tony_polster
We can't loan anyone either, unless we wangle this situation into the "emergency" category. How are Hibs able to claim "emergency" http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29320406 (other than the obvious fact they are pish and didn't sign anyone!)
