HOODLUM65
Game of two halves. Saints in first, Dons in second. A Saints breakaway in the second half made it three as Dons who had the bulk of the pressure and shots were finding Bunting in terrific form. , Despite the pressure, a break up field when two on one was halted when a square pass hit the lone defender, who did not know much about it. A Dons back pass was intercepted and despite rounding the keeper, the Saints player elected shoot from a tight angle, which found the side netting, when perhaps he could have tried to stop the ball (before it ran over the bye ) and had a go before the keeper was able to recover. Having said that, Dons could have won the second 5-1 such was the brilliance of Bunting in goal, that this did not happen. Dons got a consolation goal, when Saints were reduced to 10 men, when one of the central defenders in an honest attempt to clear a bouncing ball, accidentally connected with a Dons player. ( not sure if it was his head or not.) The ref. deemed it serious foul play. The tall leggy no. 8 was very impressive until subbed. garydavidson

HOODLUM65
This was the no.8 I referred to earlier. He had a great game, tall, strong on the ball and in the challenge. Like Murray with pace. Supported Fort-Tom who had a good game also as striker and deserved his goal.
Cagey
Think it was Bunting in goal at the warm up at Tynie. Looked quite agile. Would put him in goal on Saturday
Saintdunc
O'Halleron gets a good write up and Bunting seems to have done well. Time for the former and perhaps Dunn to start for the big boys next Saturday. http://www.afc.co.uk/articles/20140204/spfl-youth-league-st-johnstone-3-aberdeen-1_2212158_3653984
HOODLUM65
Must admit at first I thought it was Hurst in goal, as the similarity in build, hair colour etc. is incredible, tho' think Bunting's hair appears to be receding at the front. Don't care what he looks like, providing he serves the club well.
garydavidson
Has Bunting now become first choice above Hurst or are they just trying him out as he is a new recruit?
ex-montrosesaintee
Has Bunting now become first choice above Hurst or are they just trying him out as he is a new recruit? I wonder if they are reducing the risks of injury as Hurst is now backup to Banks? If either of them were to pick up an injury we'd be in trouble. I can only find this table from 4th Feb http://spfl.co.uk/reserve-and-youth/u20-league-table/ Think you are probably right with this - the table on the Saints website is out of date in terms of other teams games in hand. http://www.perthstjohnstonefc.co.uk/leaguetables.php
