Would love a new ground. Think McD is tired, and it's not a modern stadium any longer. Football has developed so much. Imagine a stadium with a retractable roof? Why not? Multi sports? Put the new ice rink there? New swimming pool?

Big fan of this wee ground , love the look of it https://gotevent.se/en/our-arenas/bravida-arena/

ANY NEW GROUND MUST HAVE OUR ORIGINAL FLOODLIGHTS!!!!!

Why even bother making the roof retractable? Just have a permanent roof over the stadium and you completely eradicate any issues caused by rainfall, snow, frost etc. Believe there are a few grounds in Scandinavia like this.

Think the smallest one in Norway, with a permanent roof, is 15,000 capacity and cost €65m. A stadium in America simply added a roof to theirs and cost around $20m.

Know the chat might not be totally serious, but interesting how much a permanent roof pushes the price up.

Presumably a retractable roof would cost even more?

That stadium in Norway is no longer used for football

I may be wrong but I think there is a type of permanent roof over some stadiums which have slats (similar to venetian blinds) which open to let sunlight, daylight and rainfall in when the stadium is not being used. This type roof would also save on the cost of  undersoil heating. The groundsman, of course, would still be watering the pitch!

Hammarby is the main one, and they make a packet from concerts

Plastic pitches mind you....

Very surprised that no names have leaked yet. They perspective new owner/s were apparently sitting in the directors boxes at the Ross County and Hearts games with Saints scarves on! The only thing I have heard is that potential owner is "one of the top lawyers in the states".

Should be easy to work it out then - after all, hardly *any* lawyers in the US

I am aware of the names and having done some reading up on them all sounds pretty positive if it happens to go through, which it looks like it will.
