  3. I think the idea came from Rangers, someone thought of a half and half with Rangers and Sevco, that way they could try and keep hold of their history. The manufacturer thought it would apply to all teams rather than Jekyll and Hyde. Stupid manufacturer !!

I just came on to post the Beeb's response to my BBC complaint. However it's word for word the same as Saint Paul's. Seem's St Paul's Letter To The BBC wasn't taken as seriously as his letters to The Ephesians, The Thessalonians, The Corinthians etc.......

    Stevie May

Stevie May got us to a cup final and reinvigorated the whole town when it came to Saints. To suggest he was anything other than good for morale when he was here is completely disingenuous. The man was, is and always will be a Saints legend and it would be nice if some of our fans could show a bit more loyalty to one of our own.

  7. The updated version of the Bristling with possabilities saints history book is going to be out for Christmas. My father wrote a piece in the supporters section for the original and it was an honour to be asked to do a wee piece this time round. With only 1000 being made they're sure to be snapped up quickly .

  8. He is a class act. The way he manages Chris Commons is special. Let's just attack every team and score more goals than them and see where it takes us!!!

  11. If you were the likes of O'Halloran, Cummins, Kane, Macca or even Sutton, part of a team playing great stuff and scoring freely, and May was brought back in on a higher salary than all of them, it would surely dent morale. May was brilliant for us, but it was public knowledge that SB and TW offered to make him the highest paid Saints player ever. I'm sure he would score goals again for us, and if money wasn't an issue, I'd welcome him back. I just think the TEAM is more important than one player.

  12. Why do so many SPFL teams give Celtic so much respect. Pretty obvious their defence is the worst for years and years yet instead of attacking that they play a holding game inviting them onto them. Attack attack attack in a few weeks!!!!

  14. When the current buns beat us in the 98/99 finale, they had only faced Alloa, Ayr United and Airdrie before hand. The Dasovic strike was the only goal they conceded too. The last winners to have beaten both Rangers and Celtic on the way appear to be Aberdeen in 76.

I've already resigned myself to the probability of there being no state pension when I'm at retirement age so am investing in property for my retirement. How do you know that I would have had no problem had you suggested an inlfux of Welsh or English young people? You have me labelled as a racist which I can assure you that I am not. I have worked overseas for most of my life and have never had any problem with any race or religion I've come across. I just don't want this country welcoming any Tom, d*** or Harry and think we should concentrate on our own county first. Yes I do think we should take in a certain percentage of refugees as it's the humane thing to do but it should not be a free for all and just "open the gates". Look where that got Germany, they quickly reversed their stance on refugees.

    League Cup Draw

I think we have had our fare share of drawing the "cup favourites" in semi finals over the past decades. A wee semi final with our highland cousins at Tannadump with a wee crowd would be great.

Agreed. Migration is one of the great issues of our times and there are many different views. Opposing immigration doesn't make you a racist. Advocating it doesn't mean you are a soft touch.

    Managerial Merry-Go-Round

Sacked ironically by Les Ferdinand who is one of the most vocal in the campaign for more "black" managers and coaches. He brought in his pal Warnock as advisor two weeks ago and has now installed him as manager ! (interim)

Not convinced at all. I wouldn't say Mannus was any worse than Main. I actually feel safer with Mannus than I did Main. Griffin played in a poor NI team and never really went anywhere. Same could be said for Dasovic who was obviously a bit older. These guys weren't capped for big nations. The league is not as strong as tons of teams aren't blatantly cheating now but we've always lived within our means. We have more strength in depth now than we did then I think.

    Tommy Wright

Nonsense. We had far better players in the late nineties - O'Boyle, Griffin, O'Neil, Dasovic, Main among others. It was a quality side, peppered with internationalists and international squad members up against far better teams. It's unarguable that today's team has achieved a lot more, but you have to acknowledge wider circumstances, including the overall decline in quality of bigger clubs, that puts us in a far stronger position today.

    St johnstone youth

Indeed! I noticed a tweet from Perth Academy, saying that one of their 4th years played the full 90 minutes against Stranraer for our U20s on Saturday. 4th year at high school would be 14/15 I think, seeing as we're not quite into the new year yet. Apparently another one made an appearance in the match too. I looked a little bit further back, and another Perth Academy pupil (a 14 year old) made the bench against Hearts in our U20s win against them. I've had a couple of conversations with people at the club in the past about youth development and the focus has been on getting young players involved in the more 'senior' youth sides earlier. They also wanted a bigger presence of Perth kids in the team. Probably a good thing as I think we have missed out on these guys at a young age. Saints have spent a decent amount of money on youth development and facilities etc for them and it's great to hear good things about the u15 and u17 sides. Fingers crossed we can get some more players into the first team squad over the next few years, even make some more money on fees in the future. Certainly seems to be a few boys at the club (Hurst, Thomson etc) who are emerging as potential first team players and even more out on loan.
