So my ultimate reason for not going is really that Trondheim is not on my list of places to visit - i have been to Are, Ostersund (3 times) so know the area...it's beautiful... I just can't be arsed! The price wasn't so much a factor - London -> Trondhiem was £150 when i first checked. That said, money: A bender in any country but Norway!
