fazman1977
What sad, sad news. Doesn't seem very long ago that the Baltachas came to Perth adding a touch of cosmopolitan glamour and Elena & Sergei jr going to a local school. An inspirational young woman and former British number 1. Only a select few can say that about their life. Plus the fact she was a thoroughly decent, down to earth lassie. May she rest in peace. Edstar101
We often have threads marking the passing of people who are known to us through being former footballers, well kent faces in Perth or actors or whatever, and many take the time to post 'RIP' or 'Sad News' to show their respects. Very few of these previous threads have hit home harder that this news however. As Athens said, I think we all felt an attachment to Elena due to her dad's status within the history of our club. Some of course will have known her personally. Add to that the fact that she was so young, and was obviously a very grounded, talented, considerate and thoughtful woman, then this is truly a terrible tragedy. I know Sergei made many friends in Perth and I hope that they can help him and his family through this difficult time.
