I believe Adam Rooney is still without a club. 34 years old so far from ideal given the ages of some of our other recent signings, but under the circumstances we could probably do worse.

I believe he has signed for Stratford Town who must be about 7th or 8th level down South.

Since leaving Hibs he’s scored some like 5 goals in 50 games.

I'm not sure what you're expecting. We are simply not going to be able to sign a regular scorer at this level. The only strikers we are going to pick are those who have perhaps showed promise in the past, but lost their way and are looking to get their career back on track, or young players looking to step up from a lower level.

Must surely be some young striker down south that would be worth a punt on loan. We've never had a problem bringing in young defenders on loan. We will never know if a young unpolished striker could get us 10 goals in a season if never given the opportunity.

Maybe some millwall boy lining up?

Agree with posters talking this english loanee, Getting regular games in the SPFL isnt a bad move, and much as we hate the old firm, these are high profile games for youngsters to make a mark. Im finally done with May, he should be third/fourth in line, experienced voice in locker room, helping youngsters. As of now though, if Bair is sent off/injured, May is it, and that would be a nightmare. Compounded by the fact that Bair needs to continue to raise his game.

Millwall have a young striker who has scored 25 goals in 59 starts out on loan over the past couple of seasons.

Olaofe is his name...

He presumably tried a flick or didn't run around pressing enough, since Callum Davidson shipped him back south after a few weeks.

Thought the problem with him was just that he didn't settle.

Maybe because he came up here and just got a couple of late subs before not getting anymore chances. Did he not score against Aberdeen in his first game.

Certainly not wanting another striker who scores less than 4 or 5 goals a season.

So Scott Boyd is off to pastures new...no great surprise.

Reading the blurb around the announcement it suggested that the guy who recently came in to do what Steve Brown was doing day-to-day will be 'helping' Callum with recruitment and this was one of the things he had been brought in to do....makes you wonder what Boyd was doing?...thought transfers was a big part of his role.

Can't see any hugely impressive signing coming in before the window. A McNulty type at best ... more likely an unproven youth from the Championship in England (Millwall any one?).
