It cant be. The bigger question would be where the blame lies. That said, after the success of last season, a lot of people, myself included, felt that this season would be very mediocre. Whilst it is frustrating on a game to game basis, and I will mump and moan, I often try and step back and think about that and how I pretty much said that after the cup win of last season I would accept a dip this season. Blend in the youth the remainder of this season, build over the summer (one or two personnel and confidence) and look at next season with fresh eyes

This whole debate just confuses me. There is no intention whatsoever to allow folk to drink in their seats - this is not going to happen. Most clubs have a bar on the premises, or a pub or three near-by. What this boils down to is queuing forever at a grotty pie shop for a badly-drawn pint served in a grotty plastic glass, nae seats, and stewards wandering around looking for a squabble. Or you could be 200 yards away drinking comfortably in the club bar or nearby local.

  5. nothing at all wrong with it, why would any fitba fan moan about things like this, it is a bit of fun, a personality, more of it all round from our game I say. we all moan when a player doesn't wave or when they don't applaud the fans, everyone moaned about Billy folded arms Stark. if that offends you, you mibee should start watching carpet bowls.

Couldn't give a shit, to be honest. Generally I take my kids to the football, so don't drink anyway. On the few occasions that I do go to a match with mates (i.e. child-free) there's the Saints Club that run a bus to/from the ground and the Tulloch Institute and 208 a goal-kick away. Away games, a bus will stop at a pub beforehand or there's always a pub near a stadium. Abernethy Saint has hit it on the head. The reality will be far removed from the ideal. It's bad enough queuing for a pie - imagine trying to get a shite pint, with folk that have had a few getting antsy? Then folk getting up and down all the time to go for a pish. It would be a pain in the arse. I'd also rather see safe standing implemented first - followed by public transport links, then re-visit other ideas.

  8. Alan Mannus for me. Kept us in the game in the first half. Whilst Gordons double save right at the end is getting all the plaudits in the media, our No 1s save in the top corner from Griffiths was just as special.

Ross County game would have been perfect for weekend of the 7th instead of a midweek game which has now been rearranged for Tuesday 7th April !!

No. Think it's going to be a meh season no matter where we finish, not a disaster but one to forget. I reckon a winner takes top six against Dundee would be a braw game to have though. Up for that.

  17. of course it does, it is good for every club in Scotland, gives us a healthy cheque everytime they do well in Europe. gives much needed coverage of our game in Europe therefore increasing our tv coverage worldwide, which in turn increases money coming into our football.. the better our teams do in Europe also increases our chances of more Scottish teams playing in Europe.

I suppose if its feasible to generate some extra income then thats a plus. But downside would be folk at the game who already have a high level of alcohol in their system could spoil it for others just wanting a wee quiet pint in a relaxed atmosphere. I see potential for trouble if the area isnt stewarded in the proper manner, lets be honest I think we have a whole thread on here dedicated to moronic stewarding already this would just Fuel the fire more. I would feel more positive about it if we had the old school terracing back though

  26. I also don't get this obsession RandomGuy has with Kane needing to bulk up before he could make it at this level. He played against the biggest defence he's ever likely to yesterday and was causing them all sorts of problems. He's also a bit better in the air than Stevie May was so has another aspect to his game. On the Scobbie / Wright discussion. Scobbie was outstanding at centre half at the start of the season before he got injured but if we were to compare our record with Wright in the team vs Scobbie I think we all know what it would say. We just seem stronger with Wright in there. He wins everything in the air and his positioning is better than Scobbies which offsets his lack of pace. We were saying yesterday that Wright must be struggling as there's no other reason TW would continue to not play him.

  27. Hope they get hammered. Celtic doing well in Europe done nothing for us, all it does is give them even more money to buy everyone else's best players and widen the gap further. They've already been knocked out twice and shouldn't be anywhere near a European competition at this stage of the season. Always bemused by saints fans that have a preference for one side of the old firm; they are the same thing, just on different sides of the divide!!
