Peterborough Chairman

Darragh is absolutely right to criticise TW for how he has handled this transfer. You need to take your blinkers off if you think Darragh has gone public on this- why would he want to put Stevie in the shop window if he had unearthed such a gem?

TW is just trying to inflate his own ego and the market price for a relatively unproven striker. All these goals in the Scottish 3rd division don't suddenly mean he is worth a shed load of money.

The proposed payment plan means Peterborough have matched the strikers value but arranged payments of a period of more than one season. Guess what? That's pretty normal! You think Real go down the cashpoint and take out £80m for Bale?

The bucket loads of abuse your half with fans send to darragh is laughable. He must be in tears

Funny comments, considering Tommy Wright would far rather keep Stevie May, and has said nothing on the subject except what the media have pressed him for.  even then he has given short and blunt answers.

Dunno how you guys do your business at peterborough, but I think you need to look at some facts before you start accusations of wrongdoing.

And you refer to him as an unproven striker.  Clearly you are one of those fans that believe success on the pitch is achieved by buying players with a big name and a big profile.  Good luck with that approach.  Nearly always ends in administration.

So as the club who hold the player's registration we should just hand him over because you say so?  TW has answered questions when asked that is all.  Your Chairman has gone public on more than one occasion.  He is trying to unsettle the player.  He is hoping Stevie says he wants to move and make it difficult for Saints.  Its not that difficult to understand why its obviously him that went public.  He also sent a tweet saying their would be no more discussions which he had to delete as Barry Fry said otherwise.  They guy comes cross as a poor man's Peter Stringfellow.

Darragh has unearthed a gem?  Aye, no-one else has heard of Stevie May's goalscoring exploits right enough.

Darragh didn't go public on this?  If you say so.  He doesn't strike me as the most professional chairman in football though.

Most of these goals came in the Scottish First Division, not 3rd Division.  Should have done some research there.  He has also scored 2 in 3 games in the Scottish Prem this season and scored against Rosenborg - a team several levels above any future opponents Peterborough United will ever play.

Bit of a difference paying 80 million for Bale and what you would be paying for Stevie May.  Regardless if paying in instalments is "pretty normal" Saints are entitled to say all cash up front or no deal.  If your club hasn't got 300k available then why should we wait for the money?

So to summarise: Your chairman is an unprofessional loudmouth, who conducts business in an amateurish manner thus making your club look similarly unprofessional.  And Stevie May deserves a far better club than Peterborough United.

Other than that, thanks for your completely objective and not at all biased contribution.

You lot are arguing with yourselves- MacAnthony denies it on his twitter- but it is him going public?? TW is losing him- maybe not to Peterborough now, but all he is doing is bumping his price up by saying "look how desirable this guy is"

We don't need to unsettle the fella- he is hardly playing for Barcelona is he? Look at the state of Scottish football- Division 1 or 3 or the SPL- doesn't matter the league he scores the goals in, it's not tikka-takka football is it?
