Aside from the obvious issue of 4 sets of fans that aren't exactly fond of each other all being in the same city on the same day, not to mention crossing paths at train and service station etc, the fact that it now emerges that any game involving the OF is contractually obliged to be played at Hampden is a disgrace. It literally is one set of rules for them and a different one for the rest. The Rangers and Celtic ends at hampden too boils my piss. Do the folk in charge really think this is all acceptable to fans? Massive changes needed. They don't give a toss for the fans, they say the police are alright with this arrangement, I doubt that! Absolute clueless clowns.
541ntees
i know they need money to pay for Hampden but the simple answer is both matches kick off 3pm , one at Hampden one at Murrayfield

That would be paid off over 4 full houses or one scotland qualifying campaign. Not to mention, ignoring that, from the £1m pa saving from not renting it. Get it is the spfl and not sfa, but even more reason to tear up any existing agreements. You are spot on, they will go on about keeping the money in football, but really murrayfield should be used in this case. Personally, I'd never have any semi finals at Hampden, just devalues it. Simple solution, draw up every conceivable fixture and pre determine where any semi between those clubs would be played. E.g. Saints v United to be played at East End park, Aberdeen v Kiillie at Tynecastle etc. Rangers v Celtic should be toss of a coin. Takes out the nonsense like this week. Add to that, no club should be allowed to play a fixture where there is no scheduled public transport that would allow for fans to get there for kick off. No exceptions. Final rant, toss of coin for whichever end at hampden each set of fans get and make the journalists and suits sit in row a right behind the goals. blueheaven

Think it was £5 million, and about half that was covered by two large donations from I think Tom Farmer and a mate. Given your point about rent savings, they are effectively getting the place for free. The issue is, where does the c £50 million come from to develop and improve it (which wouldn’t have been required if other options had been chosen). There’s no plan. IF they announced that they were to redevelop Hampden and it cost x million and to pay for it, they needed to hold all games there to pay for it, then Maybe, Maybe fans could get on board, but as you say, there is no plan. Maybe they are holding out for a 2030 WC bid and get it funded that way?
Abernethy Saint
If UK and Ireland get the WC, it’s inconceivable Hampden wouldn’t be done up for that, unless the ruling bodies were completely incompetent. Oh wait.....

garydavidson
Good on the Dundee fans for doing this, Steven McLean has had his impartiality called out a few times on here for games against Kilmarnock as well - https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/3324987/steven-mclean-dundee-fans-complaint-sfa-kilmarnock-jordan-jones/ "Dundee fans groups have lodged a complaint with the Scottish FA against Steven McLean, who awarded a penalty to Kilmarnock for which winger Jordan Jones has been subsequently cited for diving, claiming the referee should not have been in charge of their side's 2-1 defeat because his dad is a former Rugby Park player." sixties saintee
Cagey
The fact that this guy was refereeing a Saints-Killie game a few days after attending a booze up on behalf of his dad was ridiculous. I don't suppose Saints even complained, especially after his obvious bias in that game. Dave H

Utterly void of any imagination. It is great that we have two great left backs but one of them should be on the bench not shoehorned into a team. Israel got the ball and ran at us - we got the ball and passed it five yards to ourselves making no progress up the pitch.
Cagey
That was embarrassing. It was like watching Saints. Tearney has been poor this season & he is not a central defender. McDonald is just poor. Robertson a shadow of his Liverpool form & never put a decent cross in all night.

Interesting to see Robertson saying that both he and Tierney are out of position. We have two great left backs and play neither of them at left back! south inch
Surely no great surprise to those of us who were aware that Albania are not a footballing superpower. Puzzled, as heat seemed to be a factor, why we only arrived in Israel the day before the game. Were there safety and security issues?
