Steven Fletcher leaving Dundee United. We couldn't afford him even if we wanted him. Probably end up at Motherwell as a replacement for Van Veen.

I'd have thought he'll be off abroad or maybe back down south to get a last big payday. Did he have some sort of relegation release clause in his United contract? He still had a year to go on his deal there.

At 36 years old and a big earner I don't think he's particularly what Saints need anyway.

Not sure its worth comparing us to every other club. Most of the top 6 sides have fairly settled, good, squads so someone like Hearts arent making deals because they are targetting specific folk to improve them.

Then youve got teams like County and Dundee who seem to be rebuilding their entire teams.

We're probably in a fairly similar position to Motherwell, who havent really signed anyone either. Squad needs improved but, numbers wise, is probably already close to being where it should be, so signings need to be very specific about what they bring so your squad has a bit of everything.

Manager said CB, FB and W were targets didnt he? We'll probably be looking for one for each position.

Max , Crawford ,Kane and Booth if he ever gets fit will be like new signings. Ferguson will probably be loaned out again but I would like to see him get some game time before lower league window shuts.

We have few youths that could be bench fillers but we may wish to put them out on loan for their progression.

So CB , FB and wide player are the least we should be looking at. Back up goalie as well. Don't think we have a place for Hallberg as well.

Goodwin had said that anyone that's not up for the fight in the championship can go. Don't think that was it with Fletcher , probably happy to get a big earner off their books.

Anyway they have Tony Watt. He should rip the championship up next season. He will be up for the fight !!!!!!!.

Dundee had to do that as they had hardly anyone signed up for this season going by the reports.

As for County:

Just signed Brophy for 6 figures with another 6 figures going to St Mirren for Henderson as well.....aye ok Roy!

Plus they spent money on Josh Reid, likely to be around 6 figures, and some random lower league English player.

So high chance if they sign Henderson then its closing in on £400k spent on fees alone this Summer.

All a bit quiet on the signings , must be something positive happening soon as new players need to fit in ASAP.

Last summers signings happened as follow:

16 th June Wright and Considne,28/6 Montgomry,1/7 Carey,5/7 Murphy, 22/7 McGowan, 26/7 Sandford, 27/7 Mitchell and Matthews, 10/8 Philips, 30/8 Clark, 1/9 McLennan.

No way we are signing 12 this window but surely some good news due now with further developments over the next week.

Good to see us finally linked with someone...on no wait, it's St. Mirren's 35 year old reserve goalkeeper.

You mean their first choice goalkeeper from last season who received plenty of plaudits, but don't let that stop you having a moan.

We're also not signing him since it would require a fee.

It was slightly tongue in cheek. He's a decent 'keeper, but I would hope we wouldn't be paying a fee for a 35 year old who would probably be looking to be first choice, when we have a young player who seems ready to step up.

Have it on good authority that Kane is still playing 7 asides with his old school mates.

Was doing so last night.

Can’t imagine the club being keen on that tbh.

Heard he picked up an injury 10 mins in and spent the remaining 50 mins in goal.

hoped it was a joke.

anyone notice him in the training video today?

Can we rely on Clark for a full season. Seems to be injury prone and at his age ,slow recovery.

Hallberg needs to make his mind up or is he waiting to see what offers come in. Saints need to get an answer and move on to other targets if necessary.
