under 19s squad though

Dont think there is going to be any more first team signings

There isn't. Tommy Wrights said the early close of the transfer window has ruined his chances, and that he didn't feel he could pressurise the deal into going through as the team were doing us a favour in even giving us a chance this late in the window. Seemingly it was a Liverpool player

Does seem a typical SFA type thing to do. Window closes tonight because Sat is a working day at the SFA. Don't seem to think that the clubs might have other things on their mind on a Sat. and that the majority of the rest of Europe have heeded the UEFA advice and kept the window open for a couple of more days....we shouldn't be surprised.

The reason SFA are closing the Window earlier is due to the Transfer Embrago for Rangers - this comes to an end on the 1st of September, but was ment to cover 2 transfer windows so rather than leaving it open until the 2nd (and letting rangers sign players on the 2nd) they are closing it early against UEFA advice

The transfer embargo has been a farce anyway - Sevco have signed loads of players.

There are 10 countries closing tonight.

"The Scottish Football Association has clarified why the transfer window will close earlier in Scotland compared to some other countries.

The deadline north of the border is Saturday at 11pm, while clubs in England, for example, have until 11pm on Monday to negotiate deals on transfers.

An SFA spokesperson explained: "The window closes tomorrow because Saturday is a working day for our registration department.

"UEFA sent round a circular on June 21 saying that the deadline can be moved to the first working day after August 31.

"Saturday the 31st is a working day for us and there is something like 10 other associations who are all closing on the 31st as well."
