Surely, if it was Cleland, it would be announced now. The only reason to wait it if it's someone else, and you don't want to announce it before they can meet the players, etc.

Don't think the players will be a consideration.

Aye.......seemingly a guy who is out of work at present.

Enjoying a wee break at home in Ireland.

I give you.........................

THOMAS WRIGHT.

Sounds promising just googled him good at giving youth a chance, works with little or no budget, plays a decent style of football and a proven track record well worth a punt

I wonder if Darren Fletcher is in with a shout? Has he done his badges?

That crossed my mind as well - he did a lengthy interview on Sportsound on Saturday and came across very well, and he's kept a keen interest in Scottish football. He did also say, though, that he's not looking for a coaching job at the moment. Not sure if he's done his badges.

I did think it interesting that Fletcher was talking up Scottish football, as someone who’s never played a match in the SPL. It looked like a pitch for something, certainly.

I would expect an announcement in the next 10 days or so. If Callum turns it down,  that would leave Robertson (if Hearts don't make a move), Cleland. Wonder who Cleland would have as assistant? Having Cleland sort out releasing players doesn't necessarily mean much, it has to be done, and no surprises in who's left. Saints would need a Manager in place for new signings. A lot of players claim that the vision and passion of managers influence their decision to join. Cleland would send me to a comatose state.

Daniel Stendels agent apparently told a paper he has a release clause if they're relegated.

Would guess Hearts would become favourites to hire John Robertson if its true.

Gary MacKay, ex Hearts, stating taht Tommy Wright is the only man for Hearts. Wants Budge to go out and get him.
