sasha
Refers to the U20's v St Mirren fixture. (No need for another thread). The above fixture is being played at McDiarmid on Sunday 2 March with a 1.30pm ko. Entry is free (normally £5) however players from the St Johnstone Youth Academy teams will be holding a bucket collection. All donations on the day will go towards the running of the Academy and help with our goal of achieving 3 star youth status. fazman1977

The Real Saints
We are out. 1-0 full-time, courtesy of St Mirren's Twitter account.
Tranmere Saintee
0 - 1 FT. This was the game that defined the saying 'A game of 2 halves' - Saints totally dominated the first half and some how ended up losing a goal just before half time. However we were never at the races in the second half as Midden hassled us for every ball. Big thanks to the muppet Ghostie who said after 15 minutes the ref hadn't been too bad, from then on he had an absolute mare HOODLUM65

Radford 72
Really disappointing stuff today from the U20s after their heroics in the last round. They weren't helped by an embarrassing and dreadful playing surface, which coupled with St Mirren's hard pressing game made it virtually impossible to play any decent football, which the team are capable of. Not sure any individual emerges with too much credit and it's a shame that a group that's likely to break up in the summer didn't get more of a reward for what has been a couple of decent seasons and obviously that win over Celtic in the last round. PerthSeany
Quite a tight game. St. Mirren just play it long and play for the second ball and press hard. There time wasting was quite amusing though. Staff telling players that are about to be substituted to run to the other side of the pitch as the ball goes out just so they can do the slow walk back across to the dugout. Although some of the Refs. yellow cards we're warranted, others were comical. In the second half the far side assistant and the Ref. were at odds so often that Ghostie was heard to roar, bring on Willie. Collum, which drew a response from the folk down the front of "oh no not him". To be fair to the Ghost., he did say that's maybe taking things a bit too far. Over the piece we didn't perform to the standards set in earlier games and "on the day" the better side won. Good luck to them in the next round . PerthSeany
Also if that St. Mirren team are worthy of a semi-final place in the under 20s cup competition no wonder Scottish youngsters coming through are mince! very average footballers but big at the back and capable of dominating in the air hoofing the ball forward and allowing the places with pace to feed off the lose balls and long balls. Although the pitch etc may of not helped. Just a complete prime example of youngsters being coached to win at all costs and playing any football of note forgotten about. Real Madrid
Would have been nice if the Saints Twitter and Facebook pages provided updates of the match other than just the half-time score. The Facebook page normally just does half time and full time scores. You should have a look at the mess that is St Mirren's page where they have linked the page to twitter and they do 40 status updates per first team game. Radford 72
Wasn't going to mention this but feel it needs said and links into what was said a few posts above. It's a shame that not only did the St Mirren players choose to act in the manner they did in the second half yesterday but that they were also allowed to carry on as they did. The second half was spent with them wasting time and feigning injury and I can genuinely say from having seen the way the Saints players have conducted themselves this season that there is no way they'd have been allowed to get away with that. It doesn't bode particularly well for the future if young players are being coached in such tactics as seen by St Mirren yesterday. Real Madrid, Tranmere Saintee, Born2Bru and 1 other
Real Madrid
The weak referee contributed to this. He spent more time worrying about the fact that Dylan Easton had black shorts under his Saints shorts than getting the decisions correct. His tone towards the players was also wrong (you can hear everything at these games unless Mr Muir is shouting) AthensSaint, Tranmere Saintee, sasha and 1 other
