mainstand
Sure I read that they were simply taking the top half inch of soil off and then covering it with sand. Not a new pitch just a revitalised one.

St Mikey
Were they not looking at the hybrid system from Desso Grass Master? Seems ideal for the type of conditions we get at our stadium. Might be costly though.

TheYellowBox
Was it not always the plan to do this when we got the new pitch. Seem to remember reading that the company that laid it would have to come back a few times during the close season for the first few years to do this kind of thing. garydavidson
Our pitch is one of the fibre-reinforced ones. Here is a wee bit as to why they take the top layer off at the end of the season - http://www.perthsaints.co.uk/newsitemsdetail.php?param=2037 monkfish

TheYellowBox
Astro pitch getting replaced after Ryder cup too. Is there not plans for saints to train at McD on a full time basis? Great to see the club upgrading the facilities. The training pitch behind east has been extended a bit more as well by the looks of it. jhq
Got the feeling that in a few years time the main pitch at McD will be artificial and training there full time won't be a problem.
